What is Spore? I went to Walmart a few days ago and there was so much hype for Spore.

It's basically a sandbox game. You start with an organism, and evolve it however you want, to a creature. You then take it through different phases in its evolution, through Tribal, Civilisation, and eventually Space.
So you start by designing a creature, using the Editor.
You then take it through the Tribal and Civilisation phase, which is like strategy RTS game. You can design everything in the world, from the buildings to the vehicles.
Once you have taken over your own planet, you move into the space stage, with the entire galaxy to conquer. You can choose to do this by military means, dimplomatic, or by impressing other races. Now, the games party peice is that all of the other creatures found on other planets are other peoples creations. This means you can have creatures that look like dinner plates waging war on giant Lizards.
In a nutshell, the game lets you take over a galaxy using your own creature that you created from a molecule. It's endless, there are 400,000 planets in the galaxy.
Try the Creature Creator Trial which has come out. Its a small download (165mb), and gives you about 35% of the creature parts. You can then use those creatures in the final game, and upload them to Sporepedia, which stores all of everyones creations. There are already 2.5m creatures on there, and the game hasnt even been released. It comes out on Spetember 7th.

That looks pretty cool. I probably won't get it but I like the idea.

Im not normally a console type of person but Im really looking forward to Fifa 09, Fallout 3, Gears of War 2 and Call of Duty: World at War in the upcoming months. I have no idea how I'm going to fit it all in especially as I've recently got Mercenaries 2 and am loving it.
