Mouseydread's Cricket 19 Creations

Uploaded Rest of the World 1970.

This is the template team for what I'd like to create someday, ( I can dream) a league full of superstars. This team was one of the Rest Of the World Teams that played first class matches between 1965 and 1987. This version famously took on the MCC after the cancelled South Africa Test series that summer due to apartheid policy in South Africa. It is ironic considering there were prominent South Africans in the Rest of The World Squad but hey ho...

This team has two great South Africans opening the batting Eddie Barlow and Barry Richards, then greats such as Sobers himself, two more South Africans, master batsman, Graeme Pollock, and allrounder Mike Proctor, West Indians, Clive Lloyd, Derek Murray, Lance Gibbs and Rohan Kanhai, Aussie bowling stalwart Graham McKenzie, Pakistanis, Mushtaq Muhammad and Intikhab Alam and Indian Farouk Engineer.

Any help with logos and jumpers is most welcome. (Can't seem to get jumpers to work on PS4?)

Special Thanks to Llewelynf for the uniforms and logos, Wasteryouryouth and too many others to mention for their inspiration!

Completed Teams: West Indies 1928, 1950 Touring, 1960-61 Touring, 1963 Touring, 1966 Touring, 1973 Touring, 1976 Touring, 1979-80 Touring, 1984 Touring. WI Completed Era Squads: West Indies 30's 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 00s, 10sand West Indies All Time and Bangladesh All Time. India 2011, India 1971, India 1986.

Uploaded Pakistan 1950s.

I've always been interested in Pakistani cricket and had done this side previously on DB17 and Ashes, so here they are again, led by former India Test Player, Abdul Hafeez Karder. There are two all time greats here in opener Hanif Mohammad and the debonair allrounder, Fazal Mahmood. There are bits and pieces players throughout the squad such as talented keeper Imtiaz Ahmed and Wallis Mathias.

I am currently reading " Wounded Tiger" by Peter Osbourne which looks like a great read on the history of Pakistani cricket. So with more research I may add a lot more to this team.

Hey @Mouseydread have you looked the “jumper” templates @gleeso73 did for his Eng/Aus 1930s teams?

They are a good guide for getting jumpers and I managed to edit those for other teams on PS4

I got the idea on DBC17 when the jumpers didn’t work, it looks like they’re not working on Cricket 19 either.

One thing I used to do is make a cable knit logo to go under the stripes which I haven’t done with the current ones.

They worked for me on your England/Aus 30s teams. I also edited them and added them to my england 20s, mouseys West Indies 20s, and I think I added them as an option to my England 84 team and maybe some other England teams.

They all worked except oddly the West Indies 20s team, where they’d disappear after a save/resume

If anything, the jumper options were the best in DBC14. Despite being fairly limited, you could nominate the team colours and the players would randomly wear long sleeve jumpers or vests during games.

Despite there being ‘vest with short sleeve’, ‘vest with long sleeve’ and ‘jumper’ in the top variations for Manufacturer #1 I’m yet to see them in Cricket 19 gameplay, at least in created teams, even with cold conditions selected in the game options.

Maybe it’s something the boffins at BigAnt could work on.

At last a team I've always wanted to do! I did Pakistan 80s in "Ashes" but really this is the side I've wanted to create since Graham Gooch cricket on the old commodore 64. I was an early teen when I first saw Pakistan 82 come to England and was fascinated by their flair even though they lost that summer 2-1.

After that though they beat Australia and India 3-0 each and also reached the semi finals of the 1983 World Cup, where they were beaten by the West Indies.

This was Imran Khan's first stint as captain, and in 1982 they were my cricketing gods! Beside the allround brilliance of Imran, I fell in love with the batting of opener Mohsin Khan who scored a double hundred at Lords.

Mohsin for me anyway seemed to embody the flair in the team, film star looks, and cracking stroke play. There was opener Mudassar Nazar who also had a "golden arm" and could get Imran a wicket when needed, there was Zaheer Abbas, who vied for leadership of this team with Imran. Zaheer was more from the 70s but he was still around at this point as was another from the 70s, Majid Khan. Majid caught my eye, though I think he only played one Test in 82, but my Grandfather used to sit in front of the telly watching county cricket and wax lyrical about him when I was a boy. Majid famously fell out with his cousin Imran after being dropped for the first test.

Then there was Javed Miandad, in my World X1 I would always have Javed Miandad, a real street fighter who took on all comers, another to catch my eye was the wonderfully gifted Abdul Qadir. As far as I was concerned he made cricket interesting, I'd grown up on a steady diet of West Indian pace bowling and England playing without much flair except Botham and one or two others.

Abdul Qadir represented magic, pure magic. He kept leg spinning alive until Kumble and Warne arrived. I would sit and just watch and try to copy his routine just for a laugh, he later said that his run up was just to distract the batsmen. Yet another was Wasim Raja a talented left hander, and Ramiz's brother. Sarfraz Nawaz, the great controversial swing bowler was coming the end of his career, played I think one test in England in '82 but still played his part in two following series victories.

Imran, Mohsin, Javed, Muddassar, Majid Khan, Zaheer, Sarfraz, Wasim Raja, Wasim Bari, Tahir Naqquash and Abdul Qadir thank you for a brilliant summer of '82.

@blockerdave and @gleeso73 I nicked your Miandad, Majid, Sarfraz, Haroon, and Imran and either tweaked artwork or perks or both!

Special Thanks to Llewelynf for the uniforms and logos, Wasteryouryouth and too many otharers to mention for their inspiration!

Wow another fantastic read for cricket fans!! You are a legend in creating players and teams my friend. Thank you very much.

You are right about Mohsin... He was a superstar in Pakistani films and also did some Indian films too... For a Pakistani to become a star in India was some achievement also. Not forgetting he was unbeaten as Pakistan Coach a few years ago and got unfairly replaced.

Fantastic! What a team!!

Fantastic! What a team!!

There is another very similar on it's way...........:)

PS found a work around for the "homer" Umpire. In those matches go into settings and adjust the settings of the umpire to suit if the home team is batting. So in the case of Mr.Rana, we can downgrade him or upgrade him but when it's his side batting or bowling it should show some bias, does that make sense?

Uploaded Pakistan Test Squad 1973-1977

Between early February 1973 and April 1977, Pakistan played 7 Test series in a row losing one to the West Indies narrowly , 2-1. That's 21 Test matches, and they lost just three 3, proving that Pakistani Test cricket had come of age.

At the end of this cycle, the names of captain Mushtaq Mohammad, Zaheer Abbas, Majid Khan, Sarfraz Nawaz, Wasim Bari, Wasim Raja, Asif Iqbal, Sadiq Mohmmad and Asif Masood (had the coolest run up ever!) had become household names, most played in English county cricket with distinction and most were to join "Packer's Circus", and be stars in the World X1 in World Series Cricket.

There were emerging young talent in Imran Khan, Mudassar, Javed Miandad and Sikander Bakht.

During this great spell they were difficult to beat. They drew with all the top teams England, West Indies and even the mighty 1970's Australians against Lillee and the boys in Australia when they were expected to be fodder. After losing 2-1 to the West Indies in 1977 to end their run, everyone knew they were here to be a major player on the cricket scene.

Nice article I found

Special thanks to @Llewelynf for uniforms, bats and logos, @wasteryouryouth for the inspiration, @gleeso73, @blockerdave for a few of the WSC creations I have tweaked and for the jumper template special thanks to @gleeso73, and anyone who qualifies as not only a cricket fan but a retro fan!

Team rated 79 overall.

Dicked around a bit with some logos from the academy and tried to make an older version of a Karachi stadium for tomorrow. Came out alright... (McDonald's logo can get in the bin though)

Also hoyed jumpers on one of your West Indies sides just out of personal preference. Cheers for the hard work and content @Mouseydread
