Nagico Americas Championship - Trinidad are the champions

"Disgraceful selection" - Barnwell

Guyana's incumbent captain Christopher Barnwell has been controversially left out of the Guyana 15 for the Nagico Americas Championship. "I feel hard done by and wronged," said Barnwell. "I only hope that I and my 'A' team colleagues can show our mettle against the full side before the tournament.

Guyana face their 'A' team in their pre-tournament warm-up, which will prove illuminating.

"As strong as most full teams" - Guillen

Justin Guillen, who missed out on selection for the full Trinidad & Tobago team, says that he will be part of an 'A' team that is "stronger than most of the opposition in this tournament." His team-mates will include the deadly spin quartet of Ryan Austin, Kavesh Kantasingh, Imran Khan and Amit Jaggernauth, and will be expected to provide stiff opposition for Anguilla, who face the full T&T unit two games later.

Jamaica squad "frightening"

Coach Jimmy Adams has labelled his team as "frightening" ahead of the Nagico Americas Championship. The squad, which contains stars like Gayle, Samuels, Russell and Taylor, had no room for full West Indies internationals such as Findlay, Marshall, Pagon and Walton. "There simply wasn't room for these guys in the squad now we're full strength," Adams told journalists, "which might not be much fun for Dominica."

Walton is one of the most talented WKBs in the Caribbean, I reckon. Really surprising to see him being left out. :spy

Olive gets his chance

Grenadian seamer John Olive finally has his shot at a spot in the limelight, no less than eight years after he was first picked for the Grenada squad. He ended up being injured before the Stanford campaign began, but now, at last, he has his chance. "I am delighted," he said, "and I hope I can fulfil my role in the side."

St Vincent worth a punt

Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad are of course the pre-tournament favourites, being as they are the Big Four in the region. However, if you fancy a punt on an outsider, then you could do worse than to put your money on St Vincent & The Grenadines, according to Winston Davis. "With Keon, Delorn and Orlanzo, we have the bowling, and the likes of Romel and Miles can hit runs, too," he said.

No news about Canada :(
