Windhoek, Namibia - History was made on a sun-kissed cricket field as United Cricket Club emerged triumphant in the inaugural Namibian National One Day Cup, registering their name in cricketing glory. With an inspiring performance throughout the tournament, United CC showcased their prowess and determination, earning them the coveted championship title.

Unmatched Dominance and Four Lone Defeats

United CC's journey to victory was nothing short of remarkable. The team displayed unwavering consistency. In 12 matches, they notched an impressive 8 wins, with only four losses - two each against the remaining two teams. All their losses came later in the tournament, ending their 7-match long winning streak. However, these losses were not able to dent their hopes of the title charge.

Wanderers CC and Affies Park CC Complete the Podium with Equal Prowess

The second and third-place battle in the Namibian National One Day Cup was nothing short of nail-biting. Wanderers CC and Affies Park CC both finished the tournament with five wins and seven losses each in their 12 matches. The net run rate (NRR) came into play to determine their final positions.

Wanderers CC secured the second spot with a margin as thin as a wafer, boasting an NRR of -0.02. Meanwhile, Affies Park CC claimed the third position with an NRR of -0.28. These closely contested performances from both teams added an extra layer of excitement to an already thrilling competition.

This will be followed by a clash with hosts South Africa in Bloemfontein on March 18th. The Eagles will then play Morocco and South Africa once again on March 22nd at Paarl and 24th at Johannesburg respectively. The top 2 teams in the points table will then play for the title in the Final at Johannesburg on March 27th.
