I currently own a Sony Ericsson W760i and am looking to buy a new phone. Considering Android is one of the best, rather the best OS going around, I have made up my mind buying an Android phone.

My budget is Rs. 15,000, which is equivalent to 340 US Dollars (approximately).

Having surfed the net, I've found two phones that I like - HTC Wildfire and Samsung Galaxy 3. I am not into phones and thus want to ask which is the better of the two? I'm more keen towards HTC Wildfire considering it has a 5MP camera with flash.

Are there any better phones that I missed out on?

I wanted to buy something like the Motorola Droid/Milestone but that goes way over my budget considering it's about 21k or sorts. Are there any similar phones (i.e Touch with Slide QWERTY keypad, except SE Xperia - Mini) that fall under my budget?

Also, I'm ready to wait for a month or so if some good phones are about to launch in the near future.

Thanks.

My bro just got the HTC Droid Incredible, have a look at that one too, its amazing.

Wanna buy mine X10 for 20k :p

HTC Desire HD is best Android phone till date and it will be available in India in New Year @ 32,000 bucks

Currently best Android phone in Indian market is Samsung Galaxy. IF you are not too much interested in MultiTouch and Flash Player, you can get X10 (a sexy phone, good build as compared to Galaxy) at around 25,000. The screen of Galaxy was Super AMOLED but the current new generation Galaxy coming in India do not have this screen as Samsung has run short of this as it supplies this to other phone manufacturers as well.

At 15,000 I have no idea.

Having searched a fair bit about the phone, it's awesome and quite reasonably priced as well (15k INR), but what's dissappointing is that it ain't a GSM phone. Also, I doubt whether it's available in India.

I don't know if this is under the 340 US Dollars, i'm going by pounds, but it looks amazing.

HTC Desire Z

This one's good as well, but shoots way over my budget. Plus, it isn't available in India.

I don't want to spend anything higher than 15k. The ones you've mentioned, are too expensive.

HTC Wildfire seems to be my bet for the moment.

Just bought HTC Wildfire for 14700 INR.

I'm liking every bit of it at the moment. It comes with Android 2.1 and HTC is planning to release the update to Android 2.2 soon.
