big big thankx to you buddy for getting them to make the patch. i know you push them as much as any one could ... :hpraise

Thanks, but it was a team effort from all of us, there's no 'I' in team. :)

My sentiments precisely and congratulations on your new job! I am sure you will do it well. I can't wait for this patch and I think it is going to make the game an absolute winner and once people here start patching things we are going to have a fantatsic experience!:)

Cheers.

with these changes.
Runouts
edges
agression
Bowling speeds
The game will become a whole lot harder which is just what i want. Im so excited. Common SONY let them put it through quickly for me PLEAASE.

I remember when I said that they might well have been working on a patch all this time, you replied with something along the lines of "you have no evidence that this is the case", which turns out to be wrong.

I agree you never said that there certainly wouldn't be a patch, but my post said that "you seemed so certain", which isn't exactly saying you're certain.

Anyway, let's all be friends.

Fair enough then. Let's move forward.

Can't wait to read some reviews of the patched version of the game.

I hope the edges include top edges. I want them to fly up into the air occasionally and be caught somewhere in the covers, without actually trying to hit them in the air.

Well, mine will be a mini review for sure, not the epic I posted for the game out of the box!

You know, that's something I really like about this forum: members have arguments, yes, but they nearly always manage to bring them to a close in a civil fashion. You want to see the Fifa 10 forums! I'd never choose to be a Staff Member there, it wouldn't be worth the stress. I'd want to be paid - a lot! Here though, people are cool and mature most of the time. :)

Apart from all the mentioned fixes, the one thing I would like to see is a reversal of the batting confidence system. In reality when a batsmen starts his innings he is often lacking confidence and has to play himself in. This is especially the case in test matches. You rarely see a new batsmen come in and blast 4's and 6's. For me this is the most important aspect of test match batting, the reward for building an innings.

Yes, I'd like to see batsmen look uncomfortable at first, not all the time, but occasionally. Even the best have to play themselves in.

I know you are, but what am I? Whatever! :laugh

In the quest for a good cricket game, it's been a long and somewhat disheartening road at times. Frustration sets in. But to be honest, we are pretty well behaved and quite cordial when compared to all the different forms of football.

Simply put, cricket is a gentlemen's sport. And we keep our gentleman composure almost all of the time. ;)

They should have done something in-order to have Full Tournament to increase longevity of the game.

Even the football section here is well behaved compared to some forums. :)

Yes. It would be a nice surprise to see that in the patch, but I doubt they'll include it. Patches have been known to include new features or updates to old features in the past though, so let's see what happens. Just don't get your hopes up. :)

Think I'm allowed to say that this is fixed.

I hope that includes the Win XP loading times/stuttering issues. In other words, being able to run the game smoothly without Media Player playing in the background. :)

Yes cricket is a game played by gentleman.

And just to prove it here are a few old sayings that I am sure everyone has heard of before and they are completely off-topic but that's what you get when you have to sit around waiting for a patch: enjoy!:)

1. Rod Marsh & Ian Botham:

When Botham took guard in an Ashes match, Marsh welcomed him to the
wicket with the immortal words: "So how's your wife & my kids?"

2. Daryll Cullinan & Shane Warne:

As Cullinan was on his way to the wicket, Warne told him he had been
waiting 2 years for another chance to humiliate him.
"Looks like you spent it eating," Cullinan retorted.

3. Glenn McGrath & Eddo Brandes:

After Brandes played & missed at a McGrath delivery, the Aussie bowler
politely enquired: "Oi, Brandes, why are you so fat?"
"Cos every time I **** your wife she gives me a biscuit," Brandes replied.

4. Robin Smith & Merv Hughes:

During 1989 Lords Test Hughes said to Smith after he played & missed:
"You can't ******* bat". Smith to Hughes after he smacked him to the
boundary: "Hey Merv, we make a fine pair. I can't ******** bat & you
can't ******** bowl."

5. Merv Hughes & Javed Miandad:

During 1991 Adelaide Test, Javed called Merv a fat bus conductor. A few
balls latter Merv dismissed Javed: "Tickets please", Merv called out as he ran past the departing batsman.

6. Merv Hughes & Viv Richards:

During a test match in the West Indies, Hughes didn't say a word to
Viv, but continued to stare at him after deliveries. "This is my
island, my culture. Don't you be staring at me. In my culture we just
bowl." Merv didn't reply, but after he dismissed him he announced to
the batsman: "In my culture we just say **** off."

7. Ricky Ponting & Shaun Pollock:

After going past the outside edge with a couple of deliveries, Pollock
told Ponting: "It's red, round & weighs about 5 ounces." Unfortunately
for Pollock, the next ball was hammered out of the ground. Ponting to
Pollock: "you know what it looks like, now go find it."

Yes, once the ball got past the infield, the graphics got very choppy indeed.
