We are in cricket forum so when I say robe I meant rope it is a short form for boundary ropes this is not a clothing store mate if you know what I mean. I was saying that you are getting the term mixed up and confusing people. Read the thread again and you will see that there was confusion as to what you meant so I made the point politely. You then got it wrong again so I posted the definitions in case you were unclear. I do not consider that to be being rude, I consider it wholly apt in this situation.

I think people were expecting a robe i.e. garment or item of clothing not a rope. You're right though; english is a stupid language...
