New Server Issues Thread

Any ideas why this is Matt?
I have one idea about it and will try to get that checked, but for me it has been much snappier. You could try the basic things to fix internet problems like clearing your cache and see if that improves speed. How are other sites in comparison?

The log out button doesn't work Matt - I click it, screen goes gray, and it freezes up (Internet Explorer freezes up).
That may be similar to the above thing, you may just need to wait for the whole page to load before logging out, as some scripts the site uses load at the bottom of the page.

The likes of google and cricinfo are pretty much instant, it really only seems to be this.
Normally around this time it goes really slow for me, so it's not really a problem (it's just the usual), but the server change hasn't really solved any speed problems for me.

I am getting the same problem as CG. The page loads very slowly.:(

Don't know about you guys but the site didn't worked for me about 2 hours ago.
And this always happens, the site doesn't load for me from about 11:30 am to 12:00 pm (PST)

What the problem I am facing here is:

The IE page quickly shifts the page, i.e from planetcricket.org/forums to planetcricket.org/forums/usercp.php, but the page is taking a lot of time after loading just the ads and planetcricket logo.

Do you have a lot of thread subscriptions and new messages when the page does finally load?

Umm, Usually there are 30-40-50 at the time of login of a total of above 100.
No much amount of frequent messages, 1-5 at a time.

I suppose the better question would be, is it only usercp that you get this with?

im really having problems connecting to planetcricket site at home this was before and after the server change.. ive tried 3 different browers IE, Firefox, and Google Chrome and it always comes with the error Server not found for firefox and website can not be displayed on IE and Chrome.

im writing this post at work where the site works pefectly.. any idea on how i can fix this? ive switched my router on/off at home to see if it would work but still doesnt.

At home, open up a Command Prompt (Start > Run > and type 'cmd' without quotes into the box or Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt).

When it opens type 'tracert planetcricket.org' (again without quotes)

Post that up here (take a screenshot, or right click, pick 'Mark', drag the mouse over the info and press enter to copy).

Now as that's just diagnostics here's two things to try that might actually fix it, assuming it's the issue I suspect it is,
In that command prompt window type 'ipconfig /flushdns', which will force your connection to fully retry the lookup of the site info.
If that still doesn't work, try using an alternate DNS source - there's a google one, that comes with much more useful instructions than I could give - Using Google Public DNS
If it still doesn't work, there's a chance there's something actively blocking the site. Try connecting via one of our other urls - http://cricket09.org/forums/ should show up the forum index (all links off there won't work though) - would be surprised if that worked, but you never know.

It's fixed for me too. PC has become fast.
