Story New Zealand - A Force To Be Reckoned With [NZ's 2014/15 Player Profiles COMPLETE]

Just to name a couple of instances:

* In 2010, he was caught in a South African strip club, early in the morning. Although this wasn't a serious incident, it did go against the teams code of conduct.

* And in 2013, he was caught stiring trouble at four in the morning, in an Indian bar. New Zealand management said had been provoked by an unnamed Bollywood star.

* Last year it was also announced that, he had been taken into custody sometime over the past few seasons. In the police's statement, they said he had gotten into a punch up with an unnamed fellow cricketer.

Best thing i have ever read in any of the stories :rtfl:rtfl:rtfl:laugh:laugh

New Zealand Player Profiles - Part Three

Player's who represented New Zealand in a decent amount of games, over the past 2013/14 season.

All-Rounders

James Franklin - Age 33

Batting Statistics

jamesfranklinbatting.png

James Franklin is still yet to cement his place in the New Zealand side.
A good last session in the white shirt, helped him lift his average into the low twenties, but that is still way below his first class record.
Again in one-day cricket, his international batting record is a lot lower than his doemstic record.

Bowling Statistics

jamesfranklinbowling.png

Bowling wise, he's normally used as a third or forth seamer.
He has poor records in both the main international formats, which he'll really be looking to improve on.
Still with a couple more years ahead of him, he would greatly like to cement a place in the side over that time.

Jacob Oram - Age 35

Batting Statistics

jacoborambatting.png

Jacob Oram has really turned himself into a bowling all-rounder, in both one-day cricket, and the longer version of the game.
In test match cricket he's just six runs off 3000 runs, while in one-day international cricket he has already passed that milestone.
A player of great aggression, he's one of the most destructive lower order batsman in the world.

Bowling Statistics

jacoborambowling.png

Jacob Oram is one of the most consistent bowlers in the world. He nibbles away at a nagging line and length, waiting to pounce on mistakes.
He now has a career test match bowling average of just above 27, as well as a one-day international one of 32.
Another great part to his bowling is his low economy rate, of just 4.58 in the international one-day game.
Nearing the end of his career, his next goal will probably be 500 international wickets.

Daniel Vettori - Age 35

Batting Statistics

danielvettoribatting.png

Daniel Vettori's batting has dropped off over the last few seasons.
In test matches he's still averaging over 27, while in one-day international cricket he's still a nudge below 20.
His next batting goal will be the 5000 test match run mark, but with only one or two sessions to get that in, he'll have to hurry.

There's not much more you can say, than legendary.
An all time New Zealand test record for the most wickets, as well as one of the greatest all-round records of all time.
He's averaging below 30 in test match cricket, as well as having a one-day international economy rate of just 4.28 in this batting dominated era.
New Zealand's greatest spin bowler, and the worlds third best spin bowler of this decade behind Warne and Murali. A true legend of the game.

Morris Mason - Age 24

Batting Statistics

Some say he's pretty close to the next Daniel Vettori, like Hammond he has not come through the youth system, rather just burst onto the domestic scene last season.
A solid middle-lower order batsman, he has only managed one 50 in 13 international matches, a stat he would like to improve on.
Still with a long career ahead of him, he would like to push his international averages towards 30.

Bowling Statistics

On his day, he can be both economical and a wicket taking threat.
He's had a slow start to his international career, but potential is written all over his off-spin bowling.

Wicket-Keeper and Pace Bowlers Are Coming...

vettori's bat average dropped to a shocking low, very odd:p, but atleast his bowling got better.

All the allrounders with the exception of Mason, are in their mid 30s which isnt a good sign. Ryder could be a valuable replacement

Great story, interesting read, although I haven't read all of it.

New Zealand Player Profiles - Part Four

Player's who represented New Zealand in a decent amount of games, over the past 2013/14 season.

Wicket-Keeper

Brendon McCullum - Age 32

Batting Statistics

Consistency is not something you would normally associate with one of the most destructive batsmen in the world, but it is something that McCullum has brought into his game.
A few years ago he was sitting on a test match average of just over 30, but now that has traveled upwards more towards 40.
In the one-day game a similar story has occurred. Now batting anywhere in the middle order, it has seen him able to finish off an innings, or help New Zealand recover from a bad position.
Coming towards the end of his international career, he would really like to go out with a bang in the next few seasons.

Pace Bowlers

Kyle Mills - Age 35

kylemillspicture.png

Batting Statistics

kylemillsbatting.png

Kyle Mills may not be remembered for his bowling, but rather for his match winning 109 not out against England in 2012. Batting down at nine, he combined with Jacob Oram for a 197 run unbroken eighth wicket stand, taking New Zealand to a memorable victory.
He has never been a complete mug with the bat, but a test match average of 13 is still well below his potential.
One of the things he would really like to achieve before he retires is, get a test match ton to his name.

Bowling Statistics

kylemillsbowling.png

Kyle Mills has been New Zealand's senior pace bowler for a few years now, since the retirement of Shane Bond.
He has a good test match record without been amazing, including a solid average of 32.
In one-day cricket he has been very consistent, averaging in the mid twenties, as well as only giving away 4.53 runs an over.
He would like to finish of his career on a strong note, over the next season.

Timothy Southee - Age 25

timsoutheepicture.png

Batting Statistics

timsoutheebatting.png

Tim Southee's batting is aggressive and entertaining.
He has a test match batting average of over 20, including one hundred, as well as a one-day batting average of 12.
In the next few years, he could very well turn into and play a Daniel Vettori style role with the bat.

Bowling Statistics

timsoutheebowling.png

Tim Southee brings some energy and youth to New Zealand's aging bowling attack.
At 25 years of age he is yet to live up to his full potential, with a test match bowling average of 35.
In the one-day game he has lacked consistency, bowling some match winning spells, as well as some expensive ones.
The next session or two will be crucial towards his whole career, and we'll see if he ends up pulling his international bowling averages down.

And that brings an end to New Zealand's 2014/15 Season Guide, I hope you can join us soon for some real cricketing action...

Solid Update and nice to see McCullum get consistent. Inriguing thing that, apart from Mills and Southee you dont have any premium bowlers? Or the allrounders do much of the bowling?

Mills is that old  I didn't know...

Yeah, he's 30 now in real life.

Well Vettori, Oram, and Franklin are all bowling all-rounders, and in Vettori and Oram's case they are as good as specialist bowlers, but just have a batting element to their game as well.
Over the past few years I've been trying to find a third specialist seamer, I've tried almost everyone, but none of them have been successful.
