New Zealand Premier League XIII

You can do double trades as well.
So one INT and one NZ, for another INT and another NZ.

Yeah, I'd be happy to trade Sangakkara for Steyn but then I'd need to find another keeper as you said. How about Steyn and Young for Sangakkara and Bates.

Considering I can use Morgan as my keeper, it would mean I play Morgan or Sangakkara and they're both world-class players. Sangakkara is better, yes, but the difference is not worth a Steyn tbh. Young probably isn't going to get too many games for me, he's more there to make up the numbers. Steyn was my second best bowler, and if I lose him then my team would probably be one of the best-batting wise but I lose my strike bowler, and my overall bowling outfit is much worse.

I think, at the moment, I would prefer to keep Steyn.

What about the T20 Comp. Callum? :D

Sorry, it's not going to happen.
It just involves making up a whole new set of ratings, and when it happened in season one there wasn't too much interest.
Also I really want to get into the real action, which is why we aren't having a pre-season bash or anything, we will be having a few practice matches though.

But just remember than if you keep with a PT keeper, then he will be a lot more likely to be injured.

Does it? I haven't read that... Anyway I have two part-time keepers so :D

We should have a 40 over competition to mirror the Clash of Titans one. Unless they make that 50 over as well. Hmmmm...

TBH I'm still not sure how the injuries will be working this season.
I'm thinking maybe we'll have a player cap of nine games for the round robin, and then just have random injuries or none at all.

It has for the past two seasons. :p

I'm not going to change my whole format to mirror one of a one week knock-out cup... ;)

Wasn't the warmup competition last season 40 overs? You don't need to change any ratings really. Its basically the same format.

Someone should grab Gul and Tait. I'd rate them as the two best bowlers not picked up.

Oooo, you're talking about that.
Yeah it was, I just don't want to do it this season as I want to get straight into the real season four action, due to my mid-year exams coming up in four or five weeks.

Both are not that great at 50 over cricket...

They're not bad though, averaging 27 and 25. Tait would be decent if his body could hold the strain. Bit expensive though. I actually thought about picking Mahmudullah though :)

Seth Rance, Colin de Grandhomme, Cameron Merchant, Hamish Rutherford, and Nick Beard are pretty good NZ players left too. In my opinion at least :)

Our Last Seasons' Final Matchs XI:

James Marshall
Shoaib Malik^
Michael Clarke
AB De Villiers

Scott Styris^
Andrew Symonds^
Craig Cumming
Peter McGlashan (WK)
Mohammad Aamir^
Shane Bond^
Neil Wagner^

This Seasons Probable Lineup:

James Marshall/Aaron Redmon/Neal Parlane
Lou Vincent
Michael Clarke
AB De Villiers

Scott Styris(C)^
Andrew Symonds/Ramnaresh Sarwan
Peter McGlashan (WK)
Graeme Swann/Shoaib Malik^
Shane Bond^
Zaheer Khan/Mohammad Aamir^
Neil Wagner/Ewen Thompson^/Nathan McCullum^ - Aussie Team should confirm it in the SG soon

Have to say we just seem to have got stronger this season. Zaheer Khan adds more experience to our bowling lineup and is likely to start ahead of Aamir. Lou Vincent, Aaron Redmond and Neal Parlane strengthens our domestic batting, which has been pretty weak in the past tournaments. Ramnaresh Sarwan again stengthens our batting lineup and is likely to come in place for one of our batting trio of Symo, AB, or Clarke, provided one of them fails. Graeme Swann adds more variety to our bowling attack, he was with us last season, and now with Vincent and Sarwan to strengthen our batting, Swann can come in for Malik and act as a specialist spinner. Ewen Thompson and Nathan McCullum are handy all-rounders that could also prove to be very helpful

Got Broom for Redmond, pretty fair considering Hedger needed a part-time bowler as well.

My last season team was normally:

1. Virender Sehwag
2. BJ Watling (wk)
3. Hashim Amla
4. Misbah-ul-Haq

5. Hamish Marshall
6. Daniel Vettori (c)
7. Shahid Afridi
8. Nathan McCullum
9. Graeme Aldridge
10. Dale Steyn
11. Iain O'Brien

This team had good bowlers, spin in particular, but poor NZ batsmen, and the other batsmen didn't do too well either.

This season however, the batting is much strengthened and the bowling is not weakened by much if any.

1. Sehwag
2. Watson
3. Amla

4. Marshall
5. Myburgh/Kitchen/Young
6. Watling (+)
7. Franklin
8. Vettori (c)
9. Afridi
10. Steyn/Bollinger

11. O'Brien/Scott/Boult

Morgan and Pathan will replace the top 3 in some games, depending on form, and Watling will move up and open. The 5 NZ batsmen (including Young and Watling) will be moved around those three positions normally. The 3 all-rounders will also move around; not sure how Callum's rated their batting, but seeing as Franklin's more of a batting all-rounder nowadays he gets to bat highest. Afridi at 9 is kind of a waste however, so I may take out a batsman sometimes and add another NZ bowler. The two overseas bowlers will replace each other normally, and the three NZ bowlers will replace each other.

Overall, this team seems to be much better than last year.
