My ratings are more based on INT experience, I don't pay a great amount of attention to stats.
Broom's still rated fairly well because he's played quite a bit of INT cricket recently, while someone like Papps hasn't, yet he does have great stats.
If you look at the base prices, players who've recently been around the INT scene, or have a lot of INT experience like Macca are generally rated higher.
Also remember Macca's only 33.

Since your only bidding for six players, I would normally only want to bid for about four of them at the start anyway.
Like Viral has bid on six players, but since he's spent all of his money he can't afford to raise any of his players anymore.
Chewie has only bid on five players, yet has been pretty active, so it's probably a tactical decision.
