Their Pitches will Suit Our Bowlers

16boycott.jpg

Geoffrey boycott has today said that England have a big advantage ahead of the test and one day series in New Zealand.

?New Zealand pitches are similar pitches to England if not more greener which will not only help their bowlers but help England?s Big 4. Flintoff, Hoggard, Harmison and Jones will be a handful for the New Zealand batsman on green pitches; also in New Zealand it tends to reverse swings much more which help Jones and flintoff tremendously?

However Boycott still says that England?s batting is a worry

?If they bat aggressively anyway like they did against Pakistan they will just be handing their wickets to the New Zealand Bowlers?

Boycott insists that England are favorites for the test series

Boycott is also looking forward for the ashes in Australia later this year and has claimed that New Zealand away is just as though as Australia away.

War of Words Begin but not from New Zealand

war.jpg

Shane Warne has again started the war of words with England ahead of their series with England.

"New Zealand is a very good side England has to be at the top of their game. At one stage you think you have New Zealand silenced in one corner but that can drastically change on their own back yard"

Warne hopes New Zealand will soften England up for the Ashes later this year

"Hopefully New Zealand can rough them up a little and show them how cricket is played in southern hemisphere it will leave an interesting duel when they face us this year"

Warne is 100% confident Australia will regain the ashes and he believes the ashes series in England last year was a temporary blip for the Aussies

"Yes we are very capable of beating England. We have improved dramatically in out test matches after in the super series, West Indies and South Africa"

"This time they have to remember one thing it will be 40- 50,000 fans chanting our names and giving them a hard time"

?Mind Your Own Business Warney?

Christopher_Cairns.jpg

New Zealander Chris Cairns has told Shane Warne to Mind his own Business and to concentrate on his sides tour of South Africa next Month

Cairns also suggested that sucking up to New Zealand will still not ease the rivalry between Australia and New Zealand

?Yes it should be a marvellous series with England but Shane should stay well away from this stuff when Australia face England then he can say whatever he wants but for now he should just concentrates on his matches against South Africa?

Cairns believes this will be an excellent series with England

?This series will show that both sides have excellent players. They maybe favorites for test but we are a better one day side. I?m excited by England?s bowling attack and I know for sure our bowlers can match them?

Looks like the verbal war is going strong already, I just hope that the players can deliver on the field ;). Looking good Jazz, looking good!

Storms Threaten Warm Up

tropical.jpg

A Tropical storm from the pacific is edging its way towards the north island of New Zealand. The tropical storm is threatening a wash out of England?s only 3 day warm-up against Canterbury.

If this is the case it looks like England will go into the 1st test without any practice

Squad Decision Delayed

England has delayed their decision to name the touring squad for 1 day due to checking player fitness?s. Selector David Graveny wants to make sure that everybody if fit and raring to go.

It is expected that Michael Vaughan and Ashley Giles are fit and included in the squad

good luck, go new zealand :D

Test Series

England has chosen to remain with Liam Plunkett and Matthew Prior after the pair had a very good series in Pakistan. James Anderson replaces Shaun Udal. It was always expected that only one spinner would make the New Zealand Tour.

One Day Series

Ian Blackwell remains in the side for the one day series after he performed well with the ball in Pakistan he also gives England a long batting tail.

Graveney is keen to give the younger players a chance to establish themselves in England's one-day squad in New Zealand.
"Liam Plunkett has made a promising start to his international career and is an emerging player with great potential," said Graveney.
"We believe Ian Bell's ability to bat in the top order will give us another option as we plan for the World Cup."

Great start to the story so far jazz

This should be a tight contest
