Well, We arrived in france having only 4 of our transfer targets signed, so, we had to use most of the Under 18 squad to fill the 22 man squad.

Here are the starting 11:

GK - Michael Thorne (U18)
DEF - Andy Morgan (U18)
DEF - Urby Emanuelson
DEF - Gary Walker (U18)
DEF - David Walton (U18)
MID - Ryan Burke (U18)
MID - Giovani Dos Santos
MID - Shunsuke Nakamura
MID - Barry Ferguson
FC - John Doran (U18)
FC - Andy Smith (U18)

Subs: (All U18)

John Doran, Andy Smith, Craig Harrison, Lee Hegley, Andy Berry, Jimmy Ferdinand, Dean Mann, Shaun Davis, Chris Ure, Joe Holden, Joe Fleming, Gary Hill.

I had no choice to play the Under 18's, but fingers crossed, we can have a full team before the next friendly.

I knew this game wasn't going to be a win or a draw, I was just hoping for damage limatation, and I tell you what, it didn't turn out to be that, the Under 18 sqaud were absolutly destroyed, we were 3 down after just 13 Minutes! We managed to get one back with Dos Santos, but the second half was just a complete shambles, and I thought that the U18 sqaud would have done better that this result, but we conseded 8 goals in the second half, yes, you heard me right 8 goals!

I was absolutly embarrassed! I just couldn't get the players in quick enough, I tried, but it just didn't happen, and because of that, we have been absolulty embarrassed! And it didn't help that they played a full first team!

After the embarrasment of the 12-1 loss at Saint Entienne, we need a big performance here, and all the signings I wanted are here, Including John Terry who signed just in time.

Here is the starting 11:

GK - David James
DEF - Joan Capdevilla
DEF - John Terry
DEF - Mickael Silvestre
DEF - John O'Shea
MID - John Fleck
MID - Gareth Bale
AMC - Giovani Dos Santos
AMC - Henri Lansbury
AMC - Theo Walcott
FC - Bojan

Subs: Scott Carson, Carlos Salcido, Royston Drenthe, Silva, Khalid Boulahrouz, Barry Ferguson, Klass-Jan Huntelaar, Dimitar Berbatov, Ismael Aissati, Shunsuke Nakamura, David Bentley, Roque Santa Cruz.

Injuried:

Giles Barnes, Robin Van Persie, Michael Owen.

I decided that I would give some of my youngsters a run out, Dos Santos, Lansbury, Theo Walcott, Bojan, Bale and Fleck, (At least 4 of them will be moving to the U-18's at the end of pre season) Lille were playing there full strength team as well, so it was going to be a test for them. And it didn't start to well, Lille were all over us, and at half time we were 2-0 down.

Bojan had to come off because he was injuried and yellow carded, so we had to no matter what, Berbatov come on for him and made an instant impact with a goal, but even with all the pressure, we couldn't get a 2nd and got punished on the counter attack late on and conseded a third.

After seeing 2 loses in a row (Which included at least 3 Under 18's players each time) I have now seen what I needed to and in this last friendly I shall be playing the team that has the most chance to start in the first game of the season. Here is the team:

GK - Scott Carson
DEF - John O'Shea
DEF - Carlos Salcido
DEF - Khalid Boulahrouz
DEF - John Terry
MID - David Bentley
MID - Royston Drenthe
MID - Timmy Simons
AMC - Roque Santa Cruz
AMC - Silva
FC - Dimitar Berbatov

Subs:

David James, Gareth Bale, Shunsuke Nakamura, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Mickael Silvestre, Giovani Dos Santos, Urby Emanuelson, Joan Capdevila, Barry Ferguson, Giles Barnes (Doubtfull)

Injuried: Robin Van Persie, Micheal Owen.

Reason for the team:

Well, I am going to try a new formation today and its going to be a 4-3-2-1 Like this:

-------------------Carson----------------------
--O'Shea----Salcido---Boulahrouz---Terry
----Bentley-------Drenthe------Simons-----
-----------Santa Cruz------Silva--------------
--------------------Berbatov-------------------

Little unique, I have nothing to lose, so Im going to see how they perform like that, maybe use that as my perminate formation...

Straight from the kick off it looked as if it was going to be a good game for us, Santa Cruz hit the post after only 1 minute, however, It didn't stay that way for much longer, in the first half we were under a huge amount of pressure, and this sums it up, corners, PSG 31-3 Newcastle, and I tell you what, Scott Carson in net was wage budget well spent! PSG had by far the better percentage of possession, and we hit them on the counter attack that led to the first goal, Berbatov was played through by a lovely Ferguson ball, and he smashed it home, and just 3 minutes later another stunning team move put us 2-0 up as there was no way Ferguson was going to miss from 6 yards...

I changed the formation at half time and that seemed to help, I was then tinkering for most of the second half, and it worked, I now know who will be in my starting XI and who won't come the first game of the season. A good solid win there showing we could win! (:laugh)

The 3rd kit is sooo awesome. Can't believe the first game! Dude! Who were you playing lol? You need to sort out your defence, conceding too many. Nice presentation though mate!

I had to play mostly my under 18 Players as I didn't sign anyone, but I played a few other young guns in the second game (Walcott, Fleck, Lansbury etc) and that worked it down to 3-1, and now in the last game, my nearly complete Starting XI with a good hard fought 2-0 win.
