Newcastle v Man U & Portsmouth - Is Santa Cruz going?

Santa Cruz on the way out of Newcastle?

It has be confirmed today by Roque Santa Cruz that he is struggling to settle into the Area of Newcastle that he moved into, this is creating mounting speculation that Santa Cruz could be on the way out of Saint James park. Newcastle have already confirmed that they have recieved bids from 4 teams for Santa Cruz ranging from £5.5 Million up to £9.0 Million, Newcastle have said they will not sell Santa Cruz at any price and they refused to say who has bidded for him. This is what Santa Cruz had to say:

"I thought coming to Newcastle would have been a good move, however me and my wife are struggling to settle in, I don't like it. I am not sure what to do. Do I move to some where that me and my wife can enjoy? Or do I stay at Newcastle who I commited my future to by signing the contract? Im confused."

Newcastle have refused to comment on speculation that they are planning a £20 Million pound raid for Marseille's Thierry Henry, could he be a replacement for Santa Cruz?

What a difficult game this could have been, traveling away to Portsmouth who have made only 1 decent signing and that was Yakubu. But, any team like that had the oppertunity to be a 'bogey' team as we would call them.

We started well and immiediatly Bentley tested the Portsmouth keeper with a swinging free kick that the keeper saved well. We kept up the pressure and it paid off when we had a corner, it was swung in, Terry headed the ball into the bar, it fell to Timmy Simons who turned onto his right foot and slotted the ball over the keeper and into the top corner. What a goal! He was away on 2 knees with his arms in the end, it was a quality goal!.

We got into half time 1-0 up after more pressure failed to result in a goal, but the signes were great from us!.

The second half started how the first half ended, we were all over Portsmouth and it paid off on 54 Minutes, Bentley slotted Berbatov through with a great ball, and he slotted home past the goalkeeper and we were 2-0 up, and cruising!

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar then came into the game on 70 Minutes as Berbatov was looking very tired, and Imediatly Huntelaar scored, Terry played the ball to Bentley and Bentley turned and slotted Huntelaar through, he rounded the keeper and scored, but the flag went up! I was furious! The replay's proved Huntelaar was on-side! I couldn't believe it!

But, after that there was no doubting Huntelaar's next goal, it hit the bar from a curling Ferguson, and it fell to him, he took it down and he smashed it past the keeper for the 3rd goal.

What a win it was, we looked really professional in front of goal, and we had that finishing touch. We now play Manchester United next, now that shall be fun... :)

After we played so well and proffesionally against Portsmouth, I have decided that I am going to keep my faith in the lads and play the same team that I did in the first game against them. If they did it against Portsmouth, they can do It again agaist Man Utd. :)

GK - Scott Carson
DEF - John O'Shea
DEF - Carlos Salcido
DEF - John Terry
DEF - Khalid Boulahrouz
DMC - Timmy Simons
MID - David Bentley
MID - Royston Drenthe

The game started just like the Portsmouth game, we were straight onto the attack, and we had hit the back of the net after just 1.05 But Berbatov was given as offside, I checked the replay and he was offside.

We managed to keep up the pressure and it paid off when Berbatov was played through by Drenthe and faced with the on coming Brown, he slotted the ball round the keeper and into the top right hand corner! The Newcastle fans went mental as it hit the back of the net, that is the first time we have got to half time ahead with this new team!

Half time came and went and we were looking very good, (it helped that Utd only signed Pirlo and Rio Ferdinand! :)) we kept it up and we could tell that we would have found the net again before the end of the game, and I wasn't wrong!

80 Mins on the clock and I switched us to Counter attack mode, and when Utd had a corner, Santa Cruz cleared the ball and Royston Drenthe latched onto it, Van Persie and Silva were up and only 1 United player was running back, we had to score! Drenthe played the ball through to Van Persie who went around the keeper brown and rounded off the game as we went 2-0 up with only 4 minutes to go!

We managed to hold on and it was another clean sheet which was brillant away from to home to United to win 2-0 was brilliant!

Reading pulled off the biggest win of the season and they beat Fulham 10-0!
