No Active Mod for Most Spammed forum

Just check out the Infraction/Reported post section in the hidden section, more than the people who have complained here, me quietly have reported tons of post and the very next minute the post is dealt with accordingly.

Which shows that everything is working fine, that as soon as we are made aware of a post, action is taken. That is the point I'm trying to make, even though we don't have fully active mods in all sections, the job still gets done if people take the extra time to report a post.

C07 section needs a active mod (imo). appointing who is more active may help to keep it spamfree if any.


Appointing a temp mod will do the job, i think.

We don't just appoint mods that are active in the forum, there are number of other factors that are taken into account and at present we do not see anyone that meets that criteria.

I visit it every few days, and if you guys use the post report button the forum will be keep spam free.

Not sure what has happened to surendar???
He was the main mod in the story forum, and since he hasn't been on in about 20 days, SOTM has become completely inactive.
Can another mod come on and sort it out?

I've moderated for a while in the C07, and by god it is tough, but I think things were certainly on the mend. I've had to leave moderating the forum unfortunately due to time issues, but after all this time, I think, who cares? Cricket 07 is the past... people will get quiet soon. Focus on the AC09 forums.

101% True and I agree with it. You can't set too many rules otherwise people will not post anything because they'll think they might be banned and won't be able to download stuff.

You just can't resist saying "that's awesome, might play the game now" if someone's made something great and then you get infracted.

I have been made the mod for C07 forums and as my first order I am shutting it down. Go buy AC09.

I agree, but that rule is in there because too many people were going around and putting that in every thread, even when 'awesome' would in no way describe the work. The usual counter to that is 'why not just ban those who do that', but I think it is difficult to make a rule saying you can post that in 3 threads, but if you do it in 4 you get banned.

I really don't like how the C07 Downloads forum is now, the comments are always useful in encouraging work. But when you have a situation where even with excessively strict rules, we still have a massive spam problem, then where is there to go?

That is a genuine question, where is the balance for the C07 forum? The 'new' downloads forum initially just threw the balance the other way, but it has all just gone back to how it was.
