no advance down the pitch option....ITS CONFIRMED

No advance down the track ??

Are you kidding me..... I absolutely loved it in Cricket 2004 and thought BLIC would definitely have that. That sucks !! This puts cricket 2005 is better light for the batting range, it seems.

Wonder what else is missing.... Anyways, I think I'll wait for the game ( demo or video at the least ) to come out to pass any more judgement on BLIC ...

I think the advance down the wicket shot doesnt matter much. It is partly the reason why many people had unrealistic scores like 1000+ runs in Cricket2004. It is actually going to be challenging to play with the step out shot.

The step out shot normally is used to sweep or slog sweep, basically foot movement to get your self positioned prefectly to time and place the ball other then that I dont know.

Coming back to The advance down the track,It wont make much difference though, but from some one like Inzamam does,He almost gets every ball hit for six coming down the pitch, but I think it would have made sense in having advance down the pitch shot,Mainly because it is so popular among the cricket fans,It is use to slog,So I am not that disappointed but some people are and it is going to cost codemasters money.

I doubt people won't buy the game if one shot (which isn't really necessary in terms of gameplay, but would be a good feature) isn't included in the game. If they do they're very ignorant of BLIC's other features

sorry,is there advancing down the pitch or not.if not shame on codies.advancing down the pitch is cricket!Anybody who thinks that it will be okay without it are kidding themselves.

How are we kidding ourselves mate? If you play decent cricket, how many times do you step out in a game and if you have played for years check out how many times you have been out stumped. I know it is necessary but "advancing down the pitch is cricket" is an overstatement and over dramatic.

Advance down the pitch isnt cricket, but It is certinly a ammunation to attack the bowler, hit him for six etc,How many times do you see specially some one like Inzamam ul haq coming down the pitch and hitting The bowler for a six?Probably every time you see him bat,It is an exiting shot every body knows if you advance down the pitch you are attempting some thing big,but as I mentioned earlier it isnt really a big disappointment, but people were expecting alot from this game meaning that this game will have every thing that fans wanted, but we are missing the advance down the track so It isnt the case unfortuantely.

I think it's probably more common to see a stumping against a batsman stretching forward but trying to keep his toe in, rather than one trying to charge down the pitch.

It isn't implemented properly in C2004 anyway, because it's clearly stupid, and for more than just the obvious six hitting reason.

I think this is definitely a disappointment that there is no advance down the pitch shot. What i think that many people here are not that much disappointed or don't think it's necessary because BLIC have almost everything to make any fan happy but otherwise this is a very basic shot which should be included and its not that hard to implement ( coz it is in C2K2 and C2K4 and if they can include it than anyone can :) ). And who knows when they will release next version . So i m not satisified with its exclusion.

What i meant by that was without being aBlE TO advance down thw wicket, your not fulfilling the potential of cricket.when i get myself in i charge a fair bit,it gets me a fair amount of runs,as it does alot of word cricketers. You may as weel drop shahid afridi if you can't charge.lol :D

So it is obvious that both games will have their own advantages and disadvantages so I am looking forward to both.

omg i cannot believe this.....I didn't expect this from coodies, damn! Wat's a cricket game with no advance shot option? :-(

I am not upset at all that there is no Advance Shot in Brian Lara International Cricket. I rarely used this in Cricket 2004.

The good thing is that Codemasters have told us that there would be no option for this. Going by EA Sports, they would probably not have told us about this until we bought it. :)
