no advance down the pitch option....ITS CONFIRMED

The good thing is that Codemasters have told us that there would be no option for this. Going by EA Sports, they would probably not have told us about this until we bought it. :)
And then told us we needed to update our drivers for it to work.

Hmm, I guess it means that since you can't advance down the crease, you don't have the chance to get stumped. Weird. :(
I'd rather opt for realism.

C'mon. Give EA a break. ( They actually *have* this batting option )
This is about BLIC we're talking about missing an exciting feature.

All that hawkeye etc. is fine, but with no advance down the wicket, we're missing 2 features --
1. a cool shot in cricket, perhaps the most exciting to watch
commentators won't get to say -- "He comes down the pitch and smashes it"
you've taken out Afridi's style of play
2. No stumping

I usually just bat, don't bowl. And I love to come down the track and smack the bowlers around.

I think its too bad that this won't get into this version of BLC, but it is Swordfish's first go at a Cricket game. Althought this is a feature that I would have liked to seen, its not the end of the world. The purist however ( " the sightscreen is White in One Day matches blah blah " ) are having a fit right now. Its going to be a bit differnet than what we are used too....so what, Cricket 2005 is gonna rock, and BLC will be a nice change of pace from what EA has to deliver. Im sure between both games I will be more than pleased.

I feel advance down the wicket is a basic element in game of cricket. BLIC have gone for the easy way out and looks like they never really bothered much about lack of this exciting feature of the Game. BLIC will have to have some real quality stuff to compensate for lack of this shot. Game is unlikely to be realistic without this shot. I hope they somehow try to get this most amazing shot drafted into the game.

Yeah,i'm really baffled?I just can't believe it........well now i can,but it's hard to accept.I don't feel as good about the game as i did before.

Wow a lot of people here trying to look at the better side of things. I wonder what would have happened if EA declared they would have no advance shot. "What a disgusting game company--getting rid of an important element of batting." So just because they've told us they're okay? The advance shot is regularly used in the slog overs of ODI cricket and in the middle overs if the team is under pressure (fielding comes in). It is an integral part of modern-day cricket.

BLIC is looking good but I think people need to pass fair judgment here. It's as if our souls have been bought by Codemasters. There is NO positive to be gained when a feature is missing. It's a terrible oversight and we just have to hope that they implement it in future versions.
