Nov 17-20: Australia A v England XI at Hobart

It's seem so weird to me, seeing a guy like Cameron, who has obvious quality, yet he's only played a dozen or so first class games, at his age. Just seems like he should have a lot more games under his belt.

Injuries and the strength of NSW bowling attack. Still very competitive with Starc rated highly by the selectors, Hazlewood injured but also rated highly and then the underrated Copeland.

What happened to Morgan? I thought he was England's number 6. Bell looks great though, when I've got the chance to watch his innings he just looks totally in control.

Why doesn't he bowl it then?

According to Shane Warne "He has got all the toys. He bowls a decent leg break, a wrong 'un and a really good flipper but at the moment he doesn't have the confidence to bowl them all the time. You do not get confident until you feel you belong at this level. It is only at that stage you start to experiment a bit and show all your tricks. When you start it is about proving to everyone and yourself that you are good enough."

Hes bowled much better today, which is no surprise considering the cold and wet conditions he had to bowl in yesterday compared to the dry and sunny conditions today.

Well this isn't a Test match and Aus A are getting thrashed. Not sure why he wouldn't try one now, even if it is a bit loose.

Well he just bowled a wrongun, got the inside edge but well safe.

Another 4-fer for O'Keefe, pretty much done all he can to get himself in the spotlight again.

Hughes looking a lot more confident today, getting behind the short one outside off.

Ye, but having a good look him. Doesn't look a test quality spinner as much a Doherty doesn't to be honest.

ENG main bats played him fairly easily. But i guess with KPs weakness againts left-armers, the option of playing him & Dohery remains relevant.

As the commentators mention Hughes has changed his technique quite a bit. His cut shows look a lot more convectional than when he burst onto the scene and looks like he has got the cover shot going.

ugh stop getting out to bresnan

I know! If one of England's pace bowlers get injured or are dropped, I hope to God Bresnan doesn't come in. He is just such a boring cricketer. Not to mention he's ████ but he would just make The Ashes less of a spectacle and that takes some doing.

O'Keefe got ZERO turn and did OK. Not sure if that's usual. But Monty didn't move the ball much off the straight in the first innings either. Would like to see what O'Keefe can do on a pitch a bit more conducive to spin. And with a bit more experience. Might be a good option next summer if Hauritz can't cement his place.

I was thinking, perhaps O'Keefe would fit in well at number 7 in Australia's ODI side. Though he's probably not quite the same batsman Smith is, he's still a pretty decent batsman. Furthermore, in terms of bowling, O'Keefe looks like he'd do a better job than Smith at keeping it tight in the middle overs of an ODI.

I'm sold on Bresnan after his sprinkler dance in Swanny's Ashes video.

And am I the only one who doesn't see anything special in Smith's legspin? He's got such a horribly awkward bowling action, doesn't seem smooth or easily repeatable, puts a lot of effort on his lower back and wrist to bowl the ball.

It's like a slingy action, but on a spinner.
