Nov 17-20: Australia A v England XI at Hobart

I don't believe White will ever be a realistic contender as a test player. He's a handy slogger in the shorter forms of the game but lacks the technique for the longer form.

As for bowling to the conditions your probably right, just putting the ball in the right places. I have only been half watching it as I study for my Nutrition final exam tomorrow :D

Just bowling 'normally' will get the job done.
Yeah, exactly. Strategy-wise, it's smart; they're doing something they know they aren't likely to mess up. It's just that these are the sort of conditions in which a bit of Pakistan-esque flair could have bowled them out by now. I guess the other thing for this game and England's strategy is that Aus A might not bowl any better, but I'd at least back Cameron to have a crack at it.

Haha. Dear god just woke up back & turned on the TV & saw the lunch time score. Seems like i missed alot.

Is the ball seaming in Hobart or something?

Bad news from the rest of the country to with Katich and Watson both out for single figures and Hussey out for a duck.

It's been a bad day all round for the Australian batting hopefuls

Such a shame we never get two in form teams going into the Ashes. Usually the English come here and flutter about in the tour games and get smashed in the Ashes, now it's the Aussies fluttering about in the tour/shield games.

That makes me want to cry.

Shahzad now got the cutter going both ways, what a menace he is proving to be. Other than the odd one beating the bat these two are starting to look good.

England really aren't being agressive enough given the situation. At 5/66 they could have had them all out by now but they seem to have limited their number of attacking fieldsmen despite the ball still moving around quite a bit.

Pretty much down leg side so one of those frustrating ways to get out. Good thinking by Tremlett though and that ball certainly is a tricky one to get away. Two NSWmen and spinners at the crease now, should be good to have a look at O'Keefe's batting.

Oh it was but it's hard to get it past the keeper if you are playing the pull shot to it.
Looks like Smith has put away that sweep shot which was causing him all sorts of problems. So far O'Keefe looks pretty solid, a bit uncomfortable against the spin, definitely more comfortable with seamers.

Hmm my fellow ENG fans may not agree. But i think i would be tempted to play Tremlett over Finn based on what i'm seeing this in this early morning hours.

I see the commentators are now seeing the other side to Smith which I saw during the Victorian game. Certainly not a slogger that some may have thought he was from his T20 and ODI knocks.

I've been watching Smith for some time and I think he's certainly a better first class player than in the shorter forms of the games, especially with the bat.

Would be 1000% more reliable than Marcus North whose big scores almost always come when we are already comfortable. Smith is showing here he can do well when things are going against the team
