Now tell me he isn't a chucker?!
I've never liked the fact that they pretty much based the arm bending rule around him. I still guarantee that every game at least 1 delivery comes out at an illegal arm bendiness. I don't care what he proved in a lab, it;s different out in the middle. The pressure, the situation.
I'm sure he doesn't do it on purpose, it's just the way he does it. Just an unfortunate circumstance and if he didn't have the reputation he has, he probably would have been sent away if he were a new player.
I think that that's probably correct. The guy is a good bowler, but there will always be that question mark hanging over his head.I've never liked the fact that they pretty much based the arm bending rule around him. Looks like you came to the party late. Over 90% of international bowlers were illegal according to the ICC findings during the, I believe, Champions Trophy two years back.Yeah I know, its ridicolous how they extended the laws, and made sure that his bowling degree became the limit.
Yeah, I know 90% of bowlers were illegal. The point Im trying to get across is, that they extended it so much that his bowling action (while doing the doosra) can be legal.
Oh, and I know "legally" he isn't a chucker. But just looking at his action - it's obvious he chucks the ball.

Hooper, please explain how you can tell how much someone arm straightens from a still photo?
They extended it for everyone! How many times to people have to be told? And if it's so obvious, give us some evidence. A still photo won't do.
No they didn't, they based it around everyone, using scientific evidence that showed that the naked eye can not accurately detect straightening of the elbow of 15 degrees or less.
Well amazingly, I watch cricket. I saw Gilly Fan's video and its pretty point blank.
I'm going to allow that video under fair use: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pR9v27FWBM
As you say, the evidence is quite clear. As the description on the video says: "This video shows the profound elbow jerk to be an optical illusion at the speed our eyes can process"
There is hardly any straightening if you focus on his elbow, its all in the wrist.
This video is interesting. Although in the first clip of Murali, there is little to no elbow jerk, there seems to be one in the final clip. Is this his doosra?
