its played by a lot more than ten countries; its just that you don't pay attention to the other countries that play cricket, and only use us when it fits your purposes

moving only to t20 cricket isn't going to somehow lead to cricket becoming a global sport; a summer version of football. the leg work needs to be done to build the sport from the ground up: and you'll have as much success doing that with three formats than you do with one. its not as simple as "move only to t20, and then every country will have their ipl and there'll be lots of money"; everytime they've tried to hold those sort of events in places where there is no organised lower level infrastructure (or in the case of places like america before the icc began running things there a dysfunctional and disorganised lower level that doesn't seek to grow outside the ex-pat base) it has had little to no long term impact. look at the countries who've made big strides in recent years - ireland, scotland, afghanistan, even somewhere like nepal: they've built (or in the first two strengthened) grassroots structures and built up a base of young home-grown players and made it so that they have the means to identify young talent and ensure that the , unlike kenya in the past, they won't have a very rapid decline. The best way to grow a sport is to focus on low level grassroots Cricket and ensure that you - sure you'll also need to get people watching it on the telly and generate money that way but that's a long term thing. to use the club i play at as an example: you have high level coaches and elite level players who are competing for spots in the national side (or the U17s or whatever): but then you also have people like me: who're much lower level who hope to have some fun and play some Cricket: and you aren't able to build up the infrastructure for the former without the latter.

the only associate country where a t20 league might actually generate some cash could be nepal; because there it is a mass sport with very enthusiastic fans, while here its still a minority sport - one growing pretty fast, but still a minority sport. moving exclusively to t20 would change the game as we know it for the worst, and it would do nothing to internationally grow the game: if it would then it would have been tried somewhere!

at one point they were really coming up, tikolo was one of the best to watch! then they stagnated and fell apart! I think ICC should have more authority and responsibility for the associate boards!

I would consider this as a failure of ICC ,

and things not happen like this again in future , we must ensure that new assosicate get enough opportunities to play with big giants . not only just playing but there should be a fair competition between both sides. and for that , T20 could be the real key.

I felt like i am sharing my thoughts here at wrong place , because most of the guys(not all of them) on this forum go preset minded and not ready to discuss topic in a well manner. so it has become really meaningless to take it further from my side. My last post to this thread

What are you on about? So you are saying that people are fools for commenting on a public forum? Listen mate if you only want to hear what you want to hear dont join a public forum and furthermore look at your own quality if post before judging others....and say something original instead of copying and pasting; just because you can paste some profound words someone else has thought of doesnt mean they make you look somehow above it all...
