With Shoaib Akhtar and Brett Lee both steaming in at 160 kph, it was perhaps only fitting that the only man to stand up to them from Neo 7's top-order was Mohinder Amarnath, one of the gutsiest players of fast bowling ever to exist. With the pacers unable to neutralize him, Dhoni had to turn to one of his CSK comrades from the old days in Ravichandran Ashwin who managed to do so and reduce them to 176/7 by the 40th over. Mushfiqur Rahim, after having started off sluggishly upped the tempo to finish unbeaten on 55 off 53 balls and might have added more to their eventual total of 231 had he not but run out of partners at the other end.
