- Sachin Tendulkar in full flow. Nothing can match this. That backfoot punch through the covers, the clip off his legs towards midwicket for four, the crafty little paddle sweep off even the wildest of spinners, or when he's really on song, the uppercut over the slips for a boundary. What a player.
- Rahul Dravid's game. He's always there for India, a reassuring figure to have at the crease in any scenario. He can stonewall you out of any precarious situation, and I absolutely love his strokeplay: the coverdrive, his pull, and who can forget his cut shot. What a catcher in the slips too, love his catching.
- Virender Sehwag's madness. Easily the most entertaining player to watch in the modern day. He makes batting look so easy, against the toughest bowling attacks and in highly unfavorable conditions too. His blitzkriegs are just awesome, but sometimes infuriating, like his idiotic attempt at a shot today on 99.
- Good fast bowling. A rarity these days. Dale Steyn is the saviour of test cricket for me, in an era filled with big bats and small boundaries he has stood up, charged in, and has struck fear in the hearts of batsman, which is always a pleasure to see. I also like watching Zaheer on song - I think he's the best genuine swing bowler out there - as well as fast guys like Lee and Akthar, and more recently i've been enjoying a lot of the stuff Dougie Bollinger and Ben Hilfenhouse have been dishing out. Don't like Mitchell Johnson much, he seems to get a lot of his wickets on absolutely rank deliveries.
- Andrew Flintoff. Few players have that kind of aura bout them that can inspire an entire team, scratch that an entire country, stand up and fight like Freddie. The only two other guys I have seen that have such an effect are Tendulkar (more so in the 90s) and Lara. This is a pretty elite club to be in. He's always giving it his all, I love the way he charges in and bowls. He doesn't always get the wickets but makes the ball talk, gets it to spit off the track and constantly asks questions.
- Good spin bowling. I love it when bowlers can get it to drift in and turn sharply off the track in the other direction for a neat catch at slip, or turn back in for an lbw, or better yet, bowled. Kumble, Warne, and Murali are a big part of why I am a cricket fan today.
- Bowler dominated games. Low scoring battles are the best, and you always will get a result.
- Good fielding. Guys who throw themselves about to save every single run, great stuff.
- Yorkers, bouncers, plays and misses; love it when the batsman are generally having a hard time.
there are far more.
