If they had a 40 million dollar payroll instead of the 240 million one they have, they would not be able to keep the players they have and they would not win as many games. I think the Rays got to the world series on a 50 million payroll - that's a real achievement

You can have the biggest payroll, but it doesn't mean all the players will gel and play well, does it?

You will never have an even MLB. NY will always be a big team. The fanbase globally is huge. That's due in part to good marketing but also thanks to excellent business. Same with Man Utd.
