Pakistan in South Africa

this sums up Akmals keeping so far.

128.1 Mohammad Sami to Ntini, no run, short rising delivery on the middle and off stump line, Ntini nicely sways away from the leg side and the ball sails through to the keeper, since there was no wood involved, Akmla graps it cleanly

man if u can find me a video of Sami bowling at 97mph i will bowl a 100mph, go on cricinfo and find the list of fastest deliveries Sami aint even in the top 50. that has to be one of the most ridiculous things you have said since i have been on this forum, if sami was bowling at 97mph hed be considered one of the fastest in the world. if he bowled at 97 mph (156.1 kph) he would have bowled the 12th fastest ball ever. im sorry but i have to aplaud u on that comment u really took the cake with that one.

edit: his fastest recorded delivery was 148.8 kph or around 92.5 mph.

Oh my god! Stop talking about who can bowl the bloody fastest! It's not all about pace which is clearly the case with Sami and his 40+ bowling average.

i thought you said numbers don't matter. ;)

Btw, I was just trying to state a fact to Dare. Anyways, Sami has looked far more organized in this match.

Video of Sami bowling at 97mph. Sami is definitely the 3rd fastest bowler or was when he bowled from a longer run up.

**LINK REMOVED**

Before Bob Woolmer was instated as coach of Pakistan, Sami used to bowl from a longer run up and used to consistently bowl at 90-95mph. Unfortunately he bowls from a shorter run up now but its amazing he can still generate good pace and hit 90-91mph on regular occasions.

Not once have I said numbers don't matter. I said 'It's not all about pace'. I've said nothing to do with numbers. I think there's a bit of hypocrisy in that 'any old rubbish' jibe you've just uttered.

And Pak, my post wasn't directed at you mate.

Who cares if he has bowled the third fastest ball? Hes bowled a third of the worlds bad balls thats for sure.

You know you two have been fighting for ages now :p I think its time for you two to calm down. It was alright in the beginning, but now the debate has turned into human vs human war. Lets have peace :D

Anyways, Shoaib and Gul are going home.. Who will start in the next match? Rana or Nazir? Or will we call someone up?

I picked this up while reading Osman Samiuddins' article..

Around them, the support rallied. Sami and Danish Kaneria made light of the absence of Shoaib Akhtar, Inzamam juggling them as delicately as he would expensive crystals on ice skates. Sami was a revelation, quick and above all accurate in his most enervating Test performance in recent memory. As you read this, if you are Pakistani, you might well look for the nearest bit of wood to touch and pray that it isn't a one-off.

:D

From Inzis interview with Ramiz, it seems they may call Rao (God no) and Shabbir but not confirmed yet.

shabbir is a good option

shabbir, sami and asif are the best attack we can muster up in the absence of gul and shoaib,
but gul still has a chance for 3rd test
