Pakistan in South Africa

Rehman was probably dropped after his poor showing in the T20 on Friday. To be honest, I would like to see Kaneria in there for the ODI's. Its a bit like the Monty situation but I think Pakistan would benefit from having a wicket taking spinner in those middle overs.
pakistan have enough spinners in the team in hafeez, malik and afridi
my team for next match

hafeez
nazir
younis
yousuf
malik
razzaq
akmal
azhar mahmood(send for him)
rana
sami
asif

well we havent got anyone else so have to stick to these no hopers(not referring to asif)

where the hell did u get Azhar from, please dont tell me its because he made 1 century in the last match. hes 31 why bring him in, bring in Anwer whos 20 and can get the experience and can actually bowl better than Sami, Rana, Razzaq.

By God SA almost touched 400 against another good opposition that would be the best batting lineup going around right now.

South Africas fielding was stunning, Ntinis catch of his own bowling was brilliant.

Rhodes is having a massive impact.

azhar has replaced shabbir ahmed

3 weeks too late i say
he would have made a big difference to test series

Azhar Mahmood is a player that has wrongly been overlooked for such a long time. He's a great death bowler and can hit some big shots too. Get him in I say!

at last someon who agrees with me

he got surrey through to 2004 twenty/20 finals via a 1 run win.
and i dont think i need to mention his record vs SA

I disagree. I think both are incredibly similar players. Razzaq is the batsmen who can bowl, where as Mahmood fills the roll of the bowler who can bat.

And let's face it, after today, you need the bowler who can bat!! Mahmood is a far better bowler than Razzaq.

If that news is true that Azhar Mahmood is getting a chance to play in South Africa, he is finally being deserved after playing good cricket for some time. But I think he will be morely used as a reserve allrounder and won't have a chance for the World Cup.

yeah it is true Azhar is going to Africa and Shabir will back
If he performs well, he will definately have a right to play the worldcup
he has a good record against S.Africa

I don't think sending Afridi in at 4 was all that bad of an idea. I don't understand why it's being criticised being the situation and all.
I wouldn't genuinely have him in my XI but Inzy did have him in there anyway. It was worth a shot, what other choice did he have? I probably would've done the same thing if in the same position.
I'm not fan of Afridi but who knows? Maybe he could've scored one of these 30 ball centuries I consistantly get told about which would've dramatically helped the runrate down to 5 or 6 an over and then you'd have the experience of Yousuf & Inzamam to come.

u never know how it will go with Afridi lately its been low scores and good performance with the ball, he was the best bowler yesterday on Pakistans side.

and i still dont like the call up of Mahmood pakistan just keep taking steps back and calling up old players and the youngsters never get a chance.

maybe azhar coming back is just what razzaq needs as a kick up the back side

wasim akram last week said that razzaq has just become lazy due to no competition so his bowling gone down too much

azhar coming back will just make razzaq put in an effort again

but we shouldnt judge pakistans world cup chances based on this series

WI is a different place and by then shoaib and gul will hopefully be back too,
and dont forget the pitches there will suit the asian teams
