Australia Vs West Indies
2nd ODI at Greneda

After Australia's tragic collapse against the West Indies in the first match, the Ozzies were aiming to pull the series back to 1-1 in the hope of putting those demons to rest. The only change was Matthew Hayden in instead of David Hussey. The Australian's won the toss and elected to bat first.

It started in shocking circumstances for Australia with Matthew Hayden being trapped LBW from Taylor on the first ball:eek:. With this sudden loss of an opener the Ozzies decided to send in Watson, to hopefully survive the new ball. Watson was attampting just that with a strike rate of 19. But at the other end Marsh was on fire hitting alot of fours, espicially straight down the ground. The fifth over went for 17 runs and the Australians looked in control. This was until disaster hit them again. Watson run out for 6 and Ponting LBW for 10. The Score was noe 3/48 with 11 overs gone.
Australia's Troubles how ever were short lived as Shaun Marsh and Michael Clarke put on a 17 over 120 run partnership.

The seven an over partnership really put Australia in a commanding position. Marsh was starting to take it a little easier but hit two glorious sixes to break the shackles. He reached his fifty in 54 balls with six fours and those two sixes. Micahel Clarke was no different, biding his time until opportunities arose to blast fours all over the ground. his fifty came off 55 balls with 9 fours. This match saving partnership moved Australia to 4/170 off 28 overs when Shaun Marsh finaly fell LBW to Bravo for 76. A very good 50 in only his second match.

Australia's run rate was 6.07. The projected total at the current run rate was 303. At 5 an over they will reach 280 and at 7 an over they will reach 324.

Luke Ronchi didn't last long out for 6. But than Michael Hussey and Michael Clarke put on a 91 run partnership Hussey batted slowly as he watched a Clarke masterclass. He blasted a big 6 and started to poor on the fours. he was battering the fences at all corners of the ground. This was a marvelous effort and it brought up a match saving 100. His 100 came off 101 balls and included 18 fours and a six. He was extatic. It is his first 100 of the tour and his first 100 since the Test Series against India in January. This 100 brought Australia to 250 with 10 overs to go at 6.25 runs an over and 5 wickets in hand. the projected Total was 312.

Hussey fell in the 42nd over and Symmonds in the 46th trying to hit a six an dbeing caught on the boundry. Clarkes marvelous innings ended by run out. He was dismissed for 107 and was extremely pleased. He saluted the crowd on his way back to the pavilion and he looked very proud. The Aussies failed to make the most of their advantage though and were bowled out with an over to spare for 309.

This is a very good total considering their collapse in the 1st match but 6.18 runs an over is getable and their bowlers will have to work very hard to stop the Windies chase early. Sarwan, Gayle and Chanderpaul could all get it beyond Australia's reach, so they better look out.

Join us for the chase and Well Done to Clarke and Marsh.

Wow! a stunning innings by Michael Clarke, they really did need that after the failures of Hayden, Watson and Ponting. Plus the poor bowling of Fidel Edwards didn't help the West Indies cause.

A Superb update, loving the style that you make them, keep it up!:)

Great batting from Clarke and Marsh under pressure. :clap The West Indies really should have capitalised on the earky wickets.

Great works mate and by the way, I've replied to your PM. ;)

 Wow. To be honest, I haven't seen an update of such quality....well......since my story :p
Really, really, really good work mate, I'm actually kind of speechless (unusual I know)

Australia Vs West Indies
2nd ODI End of match

The West Indies are chasing 310 for victory here in the second ODI at 6.18 runs an over. It will be a tough ask but they can do it.

The West Indies innings started much like the Aussies. Losing Chris Gayle in the second over for 3. It was a bad start and looks to have put a nail in the coffin already. But if Shivnarine Chanderpaul had anything to say about it than they aren't in trouble. He came in and played some very aggressive cricket. blasting a number of fours in quick succession. There were a number of 7's, 8's and 9's off the over, But Xavier Marshall down the other end was batting too slow. He was just prodding ones with an occasional 4. Although this was a 94 run partnership, it was only going at 5.34 runs an over. And at the 10 over mark they were 1/58 going at 5.80 runs an over with a required run rate of 6.30. They needed to lift.

When Xavier Marshall was dismissed in the 20th over the score was 2/109 and although they were batting too slow they had wickets in hand. Chanderpaul and Sarwan put on a quick fire partnership which saw Chanderpaul get his fifty in 46 balls and Sarwan get his in 42.

At the end of the 25th over the score was 2/137. But as you can see the West Indies started well going quicker than the Australians were but they were still below that white line. And with their wickets in hand they really should of started to push the run rate up like the Aussies did but instead they have just levelled off. They need to get a wriggle on and fast if they want any hope of winning this match. They need 173 runs at 6.92 runs an over.

But as the spinners were brought in at this point the Winides did just that, LIFT. They scored 23 runs in 3 overs. But unfortunately they ran out Chanderpaul for 78 and Fletcher for 2, in the 28th over and were in trouble at 4/152. When Bravo was trapped LBW for 5 it was looking very nasty. However Sarwan and Ramdin were still there and were really enjoying the spinners. In four overs they scored 37 runs including a pounding of 15 runs off Michael Clarke. This brought the Current Run rate to 6.11 and the required run rate to 6.42. They were back in the game, but they needed Sarwan and Ramdin to stay. But unfortunately they didn't. They Both fell in the 36th over and it was Game set and Match to the Aussies. You could see the excitment on their face as they new they were going to win. Now 7/220 it was looking grim.

rsaran.jpg

You could see the disappointment in Sarwan's face as he trugged off knowing that a 100 would have won the match. They were 9/236 at the start of the 40th over and Clarke finished the match by bowling Edwards in the 41st over. The Aussies were jumping for joy. They have leveled the series by smashing the West Indies by 72 runs.

Michael Clarke was awarded Man of the Match for his great 100. And Australia have leveled the series 1-1.

We hope to see you later for our Review of the 1st two matches.

Well that was a great start by the West Indies but they didn't seem to have it in them to win that game.

Another quality update, Unbelievable graphics and a great read, keep it up!:)
