Whilst researching The Doosra video, I began thinking about the other innovations that Pakistani cricketers have brought about. Reverse swing is the obvious one. Imran had his in-dipper. The Reverse Sweep shot was introduced in the 70s by Hanif and Mushtaq Mohammed. Any others that come to mind?

Don’t know if this really counts, but Imran Khan introduced neutral umpires in Tests, he invited Indian umpires for a series in Pakistan against the West Indies, i think.

Najam Sethi suggested that Umar Akmal suffers from a medical issue (later confirmed as epilepsy) that has stopped his progress as a cricketer and that he suggested that Umar takes advice regarding those issues, but he refused to listen to him.

This is huge if true, because that would make a lot of sense. Umar Akmal suffering from an undiagnosed neurological disorder would explain away his behavior, and for someone who has personally dealt with him in Najam Sethi, I don't think that's far-fetched or just an accusation.

Trust Pakistan to provide entertainment during such gloomy times.

Match fixing accusations in full swing!!

Only Pakistani ex-cricketers or journalists can do these cheap popularity stunts.

Aamir Sohail has openly accused Akram and Inzy. Legal trouble coming?
Can happen but if they are sensible then they should just close down the matter in private. The matter's fame will not be controllable once it reaches legal stages.

I think Pakistan or the PCB rather needs to get the government to make this a law with strict punishment. There is too much filth in Pakistan cricket. Hearing Akram's name is shocking. I have been a huge fan and will definitely lose some respect if he was involved. I am not surprised that that snake Younis is involved.

PCB has already requested the government for legislation regarding these corrupt activities in Pakistan cricket.

It would take a big toll on Pakistan Cricket and World Cricket, if Wasim Akram is involved (though I seriously doubt this allegation's reality). He is among the legends of the game.

Just because he's a legend doesn't mean he's clean. It really does sound like he was involved as does Inzy. If they weren't, they would have taken legal action by now.

I don't mean that he would pure. I intended to say that he is a legend of the game and it would really affect Cricket's reputation as a sport, if he is found involved in any capacity.

People often avoid legal action generally and even more in Pakistan as our judiciary isn't in the greatest state. 50 years old cases are still pending in courts. Legal action is literally the last of the last options.

Lastly, we both know nothing and only God or the players know about the reality.

I'm a bit concerned with Babar being made ODI captain. Hopefully it doesn’t take its toll on his batting.
I don't think it could prove to be the case. Because I do think he is pretty much natural when it comes to taking up the responsibility of the side. Personally I don't think it could take a toll on him because he pretty much knows how to handle the pressure.

It will depend on the atrocious media in Pakistan. I have not seen a batsman of Azam's calibre from Pakistan since Inzamam. I know Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf came after, but in terms of sheer natural ability, he's right up there. He has a lot of work to do on his power game and it's a joke how overrated he is in T20's. I read somewhere he's the no.1 ranked or something like that. I think he's very similar to Kohli in the earlier part of his career. However, Mr.Kohli completely transformed his body and added that power game to his solid foundation. Can Azam do that? Time will tell.

I have no doubt though that he has all the makings of an all time PAK great and just in general a world class batsman.

Babar Azam is ranked no.1 in T20Is since October 29th, 2018. He has been the best T20 batsman since 2017. Nobody has been averaging higher and scoring more than him in T20Is since then. He is also the fastest to 1000 T20 runs in the entire world.

As far as his strike rate is concerned, he has increased it from 115 to 128 in last 1 and half year or so. His average strike rate in last 4 T20 series is 148.52 (excluding the Sri Lanka series). I do agree with your point that he needs to improve even further, but he has improved a lot and he is improving with every passing day. Also, consider the fact that he isn't the agressor and his role is to play till the end.

He averages 57.50 in Australia, 80 in England, 54 in Pakistan and New Zealand, 50 in South Africa and 49 in UAE and 60.33 while captaining the Pakistan T20 team. His T20 career's average is 50.72.

Babar scored 3 T20 hundreds last year; against Sindh, Hampshire and Leicestershire. Babar also has a 90 at Wanderers against South Africa, 97* in Karachi against West Indies and 90 against World Xi at Gadaffi Stadium Lahore as well.

The 25-year-old was the leading run scorer in the 2019 Vitality Blast (his first Vitality Blast tournament), amassing an incredible 578 runs at an average of 52.54. He struck a sublime 102 not out at the Ageas Bowl and boasted an impressive tournament strike rate of 149.35.

This is all when he is only 25 years old and debuted just 3 and half years earlier. It is astonishing to see how you are making claims without any proof.
