I think a more realistic approach would be to set realistic expectations from the team here. Among the 8 in the current CT, they are probably the weakest team around. There the logical approach from the board and fans would have been:
Why are we competing in the CT? What is our end objective? Looking at the past results, are we in a position to win the CT? On a highly realistic note, perhaps NO. Then, what's the next best thing for us? Can we reach the semis? If not, can we attempt to beat either of India, New Zealand and/or Pakistan?
If the answer to all of this is NO, it is perhaps time to revaluate the squad make-up. All this should have happened prior to the CT. I dont blame them for trying to simply be a part of the CT, as participation means some ICC money. But, given the way the WI have gone+SRL pulling up their socks recently, Bangladesh does stand precariously close to falling to the same level as WI.
