Pakistan Cricket was down and out off-late except Babar Azam rise as an emerging top player, everything has been on a decline but for two years, it has been noticed that the PCB management wants to do something. The Domestic Structure has been overhauled which we still have to see the impact of, however, on the team's part, poor coaches selection and captaincy changed reversed everything that Mickey Arthur and Sarfraz built up with so much hard work.
That's a little harsh, to be fair. Apart from Babar, Shaheen, Rizwan, Hassan Ali and Fawad Alam have been brilliant as well. And there have been some nice improvements in quite a few other players.

Sarfaraz had just become a burden on the team at the end. The management had to get rid of him. And in hindsight, it was a great decision with Rizwan emerging as one of the world's best all-format wicket-keeper, if not the best. Mickey's removal was a 50/50 decision. Misbah did improve the Test side by miles, but yes, he was far off from being a world-class limited-overs coach.

I was away from the forums because there was literally nothing much to contribute as far as our International performance was concerned except here and there. With Ramiz coming in as Chairman of the board and with his aggressive decisions and a clear visionary speech today, I am quite hopeful that Pakistan Cricket will go in the right direction. At the end of the day, it all goes towards the team's level. If your team is doing good consistently all that is matters but a consistent performance needs a lot more groundwork and meritocracy which the board lacked. I am hopeful that some positive things are going to happen with the Cricket Team.

Moreover, Somehow, with Ramiz's ability to communicate and handling media (since he has been the top commentator from Pakistan), His appointment has definitely added a "Wow" factor to Pakistan Cricket. The Cricketers are happy, the fans are hopeful, and there are a lot of expectations. So fingers crossed and hoping for the best.

PS: O Yeah, the appointment of Hayden and Philander as coaches in their respective roles is a great move. If Saqlain is the head coach at the moment then that's great as well because Saqlian has a lot of cricket literacy. Way to go PAKISTAN +1
Great to see you back.

This is unbelievable. This is 100% politics.

This isn't about cricket.

Important to liberate cricket from the politics. Not saying NZ should tour, but make it clear that PCB is not to blame and that the security of the players was not compromised from THEIR side.

The script for Pakistan lifting the T20 WC from here could not have been written in Hollywood. Predict them beating India at the very least which is as important as lifting the cup for them!

Lolwut?! How does any of this equate to that^. I love myself an underdog story, so IMO Afghanistan should be front runners to win since everything is stacked against them, literally.

Either, or. Just think Pakistan is more capable of it.

What on earth happened? Why is the tour off?
Something obviously changed. If NZ just didn't want the tour to go ahead they would have pulled out long before this and not travelled to Pakistan. Without knowing what that change was it's impossible to take a view if what NZ has done is the right decision. Admittedly it is rather strange that they've just upped and left without talking to anyone on the Pakistan side.

Worry now for Pakistan is that it all collapses like a house of cards. Easy to see the ECB pulling out now.

Really tragic! I think the cricket community has shrunk a lot in the past decade instead of globalising the sport. This is a huge setback in that endeavour.

Curious that they didn’t say anything outright about security threats.
