Terrific bowling by Herath : 8 th Five for in 20 test vs Pakistan beating Kapil dev record of 99 wickets vs Pakistan

Next test is maiden day night for Srilanka on 6 th at 6 am USA time

I think Pakistans first defeat at Abu Dhabi because until 27 over they can not hit 4 , no way you playing to save your wicket while chasing 136 only

Would you (Pakistanis) miss Sharjeel Khan ? I do really . Was an established aggressive opener . Imagine him & Fakhar opening together ........

TBH I didn't had this thought throughout the champions trophy. But sometimes yes I miss him. He was a great asset of Pakistan. :/

Yeah I will miss him and he was a decent opener.. Well I guess he got greedy and paid the price for it.
Bro,
Butt getting ready in Zimbabwe now but yesterday Pakistan includes Inzys Nephew IMAM-Ul Haq in Pakistan's ODI team but no Azhar bhai
My question to Inzamul if Azhar injured why he is playing in day night test?

Imam is only good for Tests.

The one thing I have noticed is that when Pakistan play with intent, it feels a different side. Even the likes of Asad Shafiq looks world class compared to the first test or the series before.

I hope this is something Mickey Arthur looks to force into the side.

Opinions??

I mean there is a clear need for a little reform when we struggle to replace legends or can't find a decent opening combo for the last 5 odd years.
The problem is politics, and it always will be. You know as well as me and every Pakistani that if we picked the absolute best talents in our country and coached them properly, without any nepotism or favouritism, we'd consistenly be among the top four best teams in the world. What we need is a PM who'd have the wisdom to put his political interests aside, and reform the cricketing system from the grassroots upward to remove all favouritism. Due to the nature of politicians, and the harsh reality that cricket is not high on the list of priorities of a Pakistani PM, only someone who truly is passionate about the game would implement these reforms. Among the likely candidates for PM, there's only one man who, in my opinion at least, fits that description, even if not really perfectly.

I don't care about the corruption because we are from Pakistan (all Asian countries encapsulated here) and it is unavoidable there, same applies to nepotism.

What does irritate me is the poor management of players and the lack of interest in improving shown by the PCB. For example, why is there no Sadaf Hussain, Fawad Alam etc after performing season after season? Why do we keep going back to the same broken formula hoping for new results? Why are decent players only given a series then rejected - i.e. Raza Hasan, Saad Nasim? I mean how long until Umar Akmal comes back to the Pakistani side?

A glaring insight to this predicament is the clear lack of evolution Pakistan has shown in the last 10 yrs especially within ODI cricket. In the times of Inzi (early 2000's), I remember Pakistan playing aggressive cricket from the get-go with Imran Nazir/Saeed Anwar at the top, Mohammad Yousuf (or Youhana as he was known then) in the middle with Afridi and Razzaq to finish off and get close to 270-300 almost every game in Asia and often outside as well. Honestly, don't see us getting to those scores on constant bases anymore with the same players constantly being rotated around. So disappointing to see.

Whereas India can chase 300-350 with almost regularity it is becoming an embarrassment for us that scores above 250 are considered as maybe too much for Pakistan. For god sake, we couldn't chase 136 a week ago. Clearly, there isn't a lack of talent so the question becomes where is the problem? Is it the domestic circuit not conditioning the players properly? The lack of quality A cricket? Or the poor management by the PCB?
