Pakistan tour of Australia and New Zealand 2023/24

This isn't really Pakistan's best XI.

Naseem Shah is out and Abrar who is the mainline spinner is also out.

Whats your definition of best XI?
My definition of best XI is what they play with what they have. India had an injured squad and the XI they were playing was their best XI. With amount of cricket played these days, you will not have everyone playing every time so whatever you have is your best XI. What Pakistan played this match their best X. Sarfaraz should not be in and if Rizwan is in the XI that makes your best XI based on the squad.

You could get round the Park vs Ind issue with two proper balanced groups rather than putting Pakistan in division 2 because India won't play them.
But he will he do his jingoistic thing then

Next time you want to reply about me, tag me buddy. None of my posts have been jingoistic about anything. Stop being the victim always.

My reason of putting the teams that included Pakistan in Division 2 is because the other 5 teams are better. No other reason, nothing jingoistic about it. Nothing to feel victimized about.

Also I also mentioned to Pillow that if India Pak dont play which would be a no coming from Indian government as usual, India loses points not other way around. Again nothing jingoistic about it either.

Look, just give up when you know you're wrong/trolling :crylaugh:

India in their squad for 2018/19 had Kohli, Pujara, Rahul, Sharma, Pant, Rahane for batting, all experienced with long long careers behind them (apart from Pant ofc).

In the bowling they had Bumrah, Shami, Bhuvi, Ashwin, Jadeja, Sharma and thats just off the top of my head.

It's pretty much the same story a couple years later. They are all either first choice test cricketers or cricketers with lots of experience.

Pakistan for comparisons sake, don't even have their 2nd or 3rd choice pace bowlers out there with the guys who were being groomed as such (Hasnain, Ihsanullah) being injured, not to mention latest spearhead Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf who at least has some experience not being available. Heck, even the eventual 1st and 2nd choice spinners were injured for that first test.

To make these comparisons is laughable.

Big blow. Was our best bowler.
Wasim Jr needs to come in, he’s a transformed bowler after the World Cup

I've been a fan of Wasim even before the world cup. He has all the tools of a very good fast bowler and serious pace also.

I'd rest Shaheen, the bowling line up should be: Wasim Jr, Jamal, Hasan Ali, Abrar...the 5th bowler could be Ashraf or Noman, it doesnt really matter lol

Just make two balanced groups then, no need to divide Test cricket in two tiers. India and Pakistan in different groups, and if they both qualify for the WTC final, it’s an ICC event, so should not be a problem.

I mean WTC should always be ICC branded so bilaterals should still happen. Dumb governments and boards

on paper who is stronger amongst South Africa, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe?
South Africa easily! The last 5 aren't anywhere near Div 1!

India in their squad for 2018/19
I think he is talking about 2020-21 (In 2018/19 India was favourite imo but 2020/21 was something else)

Indian Team last test @Gabba:

Natarajan & Sundar: debut
Thakur & Saini: 2nd game
Gill & Siraj: 3rd game

To win that game & series after 36/10, with the players above playing is one hell of an achievement!

I am talking about how India's 2nd, 3rd string won the games. If someone has a grit and determination, there is nothing that could stop them.

After that 36 all out drubbing where we were at the peak of our strength in terms of the XI, we played with Agarwal and Gill debuting if I remember correctly. We had Shami injured, Kohli and Sharma out. Yes our bowling was better compared to what Pakistan currently has with Bumrah, Ashwin, Jadeja but we also had Siraj who will still making his name and Yadav who is not known for his consistancy. Not to forget Vihari who was playing injured. We won that test thanks to Jinx captaincy and 100.

Third test Yadav was injured and Saini coming in and we had to bat our skin out to save that match thanks to 300 deliveries blockathon from an injured Hanuma Vihari and Ashwin who too was batting injured and brilliant 97 from Pant. God I miss him!

4th and final test we had Sharma come back which was a sigh of relief but we had Natarajan, Saini, Washington Sundar and Mayank batting at 5. I am not trolling or wrong. My point is simple, I am interested to see how Pakistan overcomes the 89 all out. Whatver XI you play, is your best XI and hence you play that XI. There are no ifs and buts. Haris Rauf is playing BBL he has only played 1 test and 9 FC matches so unsure how that is a huge miss. Naseem Shah on the other hand is a great hole that needs to be filled as he has been injured more then being available.

but we also had Siraj who will still making his name

Just wanted to point out that it was Siraj’s debut series and he ended up being the leading wicket taker for India in that series.

The real issue I have with the current Pakistani side’s approach is that they aren’t pushing for a win. It’s been way too pragmatic with a focus on remaining competitive in each session rather than pushing to dominate them. Better Pakistani sides have failed at the task in the past but letting it bog down this current side is not ideal.

I’d have put Pakistan over South Africa if they didn’t resort to Rambo’s insane highway for pitches tactic that impeded their chances of a win significantly.

I thought he played his first series against England. May be I am wrong.
