Pakistani Fast Bowler Mohd Irfan

You'd back him and Aamer to form a pretty dangerous combination, both left armers but both completely different types of bowlers with unique traits.

Waqar is doing quite right by not playing him to early, although he is too tall but he needs to work on his pace and only for this reason he is getting extra training in NCA. But yes we all will love to see this bowler to bowl for Pakistan.

I believe meat is the answer.

coupled with mentality. You have to be really mean and aggressive to be a good fast bowler. Indian atheletes from what I have seen are not "mean/aggressive" in any sense, far from it. They have no attacking mentality, no "fear" factor behind the attack.

Sreesanth is a small exception but he is nothing to write home about, a below par "fast" bowler for International standards at most.

I would have said that about the previous generations (that they are not that aggresive) but the current crop of Indian batsmen are. Its that you need to back your aggression with some talent, if you dont, you end up with someone like Sreesanth. The batsmen like Kohli, Raina, Gambhir are its the bowlers barring Zaheer and HSingh that are not frightening.

Sreesanth makes me laugh, not fear him - I expect the batsmen feel the same way.

Sreesath bowled some great spell against South Africe in SA, but like all budding indian bowlers, he must have been told to cut down on pace and concentrate on line and length :facepalm.

Tendulkar Faced likes of garner, walsh and ambrose at the tender age of 16... So i dont this Irfan would be a problem.

@BKB1991. Aggression isn't all about showing it on the field, sledging, and stuff. Sehwag is ultra aggressive player even though he uses his mouth seldom on pitch. Same goes for Sachin, Jayasurya, etc

can't wait for his debut.... the batsman looked like midgets in front of him.

He never faced Garner. At least not in a official international match. Garner retired in 87. Tendulkar made his debut in 89.

I am talking about the aggresion on the pitch.

I think it's still accurate to say that Sreesanth is an example of a mentally flawed player. There's no value in self-destructive aggression.

Pakistani bowlers are usually very well organised mentally, not only in terms of strategy and dynamics, but also discipline. It's one thing to intend a good bouncer, but it's another thing to execute it at will.

i wanna see mohammad irfan bowl to tendulkar or stand next to him :p

evil! hehe dont pun the great man on something that he can possiblly not change.

Vilander added 5 Minutes and 40 Seconds later...

stuff about Sree are partly true, he has crap attitude but is not laughable as a bowler. But i dont think meat is the reason for slower indian bowlers, its skill. You dont have to look further than SARCC games to put the meat theory to rest, Indian track and field atheletes own their Pak,SL counterparts, its like no contest. So i dont think it is in physicality, its in skill. Probably we can give Akram a coaching stint, pakis know something that we dont, how to bowl fast without the fast twitch muscles..

Its the aggressive mentality that Pakistani bowlers have possessed over the years. Pakistani youngster have had great idols to imitate like Fazal, Imran Khan and Akram. Ever since then, it has been a continuous stream of young men just willing to bowl quick trying to imitate their idol. Similarly Indian youth have mostly greats batsmen to follow. No surprise India keeps on producing the best batting talent in the world.
