Franklyn Stephenson is the all-rounder that I'm thinking of, but there were others available who might have served your team balance a little better, even if Vince is the better bowler.

At the end of the day, I figured that with the potential exception of Yash, my top order isn't going to be troubled by more than one or two bowlers on any team - my top 5 either average 50 in Tests, 50 in first class, or both - so I could do with going with the best bowler of the options. It's a big take, but I genuinely think Van der Bijl was on the same level as Lillee and Garner. And he can bat well enough to be... well, #8, but my #5 averages 91 at Test level so I can afford him a tad high lol.
I will agree, Stephenson UD is a crime
