Draft: The Seniors First Test Draft

I had planned for my next two picks to be Jadeja and Sutcliffe, but obviously that's no longer possible. Instead I'll be picking a player who's the poor man's replacement for both: Wilfred Rhodes has more wickets than anyone else has ever taken, as well as a Test triple-century stand with his opening partner in my team. I'm happy with this.

1. :eng: :bat: Jack Hobbs (61 caps)
2. :eng: :ar: Wilfred Rhodes (58 caps)
3. :eng: :bat: Wally Hammond (85 caps)
4. :aus: :bat: Steven Smith (92 caps)
5. :wi: :ar: Garfield Sobers (93 caps)
6. :pak: :ar: Imran Khan (88 caps)
8. :nzf: :ar: Richard Hadlee (86 caps)
10. :wi: :bwl: Malcolm Marshall (81 caps)

@Parth D

Making a double pick again since @Na Maloom Afraad 's pick can't conflict with mine.

My original plan was to take the commentator duo of Lawry and Benaud but just at the brink of posting I found out that Leo has taking Benaud couple of picks back. Tough luck.

So now I choose,
Bill Lawry and Shakib Al Hasan

Lawry being the best batsman available from the lot I was searching and Shakib in my opinion is very underated as an all rounder. One of the rare genuine all rounder we find in cricket off late.

I am pretty much happy with my line up with most of the basis covered till now.

  1. :aus: :bat: Bill Lawry (67 caps)
  2. :ind: :bat: Rahul Dravid (164 caps)
  3. :wi: :bat: Brian Lara (131 caps)
  4. :ban: :ar: Shakib al Hasan (65 caps)
  5. :eng: :ar: Andrew Flintoff (79 caps)
  6. :aus: :wkb: Adam Gilchrist (96 caps)
  7. :ind: :ar: Ravichandran Ashwin (88 caps)
  8. :pak: :bwl: Wasim Akram (104 caps)
  9. :aus: :bwl: Mitchell Johnson (73 caps)
@Na Maloom Afraad

Quinton de Kock is a bonkers player to be able to squeeze into a team that already bats this deep. He averages almost 49 as a wicket-keeper at number seven. Just an absolutely game-changing cricketer who I've been able to pick in his exact strongest role in my XI. He's also good with the gloves, which is always a bonus.

1. :eng: :bat: Jack Hobbs (61 caps)
2. :eng: :ar: Wilfred Rhodes (58 caps)
3. :eng: :bat: Wally Hammond (85 caps)
4. :aus: :bat: Steven Smith (92 caps)
5. :wi: :ar: Garfield Sobers (93 caps)
6. :pak: :ar: Imran Khan (88 caps)
7. :saf: :wk: Quinton de Kock (54 caps)
8. :nzf: :ar: Richard Hadlee (86 caps)
10. :wi: :bwl: Malcolm Marshall (81 caps)

@ddrap14

1. :ind: :bat: Sunny Gavaskar
2. :wi: :bat: Everton Weekes
3. :sri: :wkb: Kumar Sangakkara
4. :eng: :bat: Ken Barrington
5. :aus: :bat: Michael Clarke
7. :eng: :ar: Ian Botham
9. :wi: :bwl: Joel Garner
10. :sri: :bwl: Murali
11. :pak: :bwl: Waqar Younis

I've got a fairly decent idea as to what my final three picks will be. Weekes might not be the strongest of those players, but he's the one with the most caps, and must be picked before the others.

@liveinasociety

A terrific player, but picked completely out of position. Definitely not the best fit for your team out of the players who are left
That's a bung up on my part, I was meaning to have him lower down but I screwed up the numbering. My two guys I have my eyes on do include an opener

Zaheer Khan ...

:saf: :bat: Graeme Smith
:ind: :bat: Sachin Tendulkar

24 hours up, thus posting my pick.

The Whispering Death, Michael Holding (60 caps), happy to add Windies bowling mastero to my squad.

@ahmedleo414 to make double pick.
@CerealKiller has a outstanding pick left.

Huge pick; massively underrated player just because he has a chronic record in the Ashes
