He has to bat slightly out of position at number five, but Asanka Gurusinha was such a machine in New Zealand that it is certainly worth it. In nine innings, he made scores of 70, 119, 102, 50, 29, 2, 8, 28 and 127. 50+ scores 55% of the time, 100+ scores 33% of the time, and three of his four failures came when playing as a makeshift opener in the world's hardest conditions to open the batting.

Happily also continues my trend of picking players for my team who are a bit off the beaten track.

1. :ind: :bat: Gautam Gambhir
2. :eng: :bat: Michael Atherton
3. :nzf: :bat: Kane Williamson
4. :saf: :bat: Daryll Cullinan
5. :sri: :bat: Asanka Gurusinha
6. :pak: :ar: Mushtaq Mohammad (:c:?)
7. :nzf: :wk: Brendon McCullum (:c:?)
8. :nzf: :ar: Jacob Oram
9. :nzf: :bwl: Kyle Jamieson
10.
11.
