Patch #4 release update!

From an avid Gamer and Competitive Online Players perspective , I would think that if they cannot get all the Bugs squashed before the Cut Off date for submission , to send through whatever they have , and continue with the balance of the Bugs .

Because everyone would appreciate that we have at least received a Patch , bettering Gameplay by x percentage , and then most will be much more content to wait it out for the balance of the Bugs to get squished .

But to not release anything on the Timeframe , I would think would present much worse .

@BigAntStudios , @MattW , @HBK619 , your wise words would be appreciated .
As a gamer I would also prefer some sort of patch rather than nothing but with a little insight into this without saying much, each element works hand in hand and if one thing is changed it has a run on effect. We all want a game that is as good as it has promised but any rushed effort will further mess this up for all of us. Say they fix lack of edges and all of a sudden every team gets bowled out for 20. Is this worth it then?
I know there are a few of us out there giving feed back everyday and for now they have listened and tried to implement key elements that truly take away from the game of cricket. It doesn't always go as planned and we need to respect that as a community.

I guarantee you guys, BA want this game to succeed and they are still giving it their best. Sure, it could have been perfect from day 1, so many games could have been and yet they were not and offer no support. BA are trying to fix THEIR game and for free.

@Llewelynf , I understand fully where your coming from . I`m a Civil Engineer , and can unfortunately not allways grasp the workings of Programming/ Coding , but I can only try to imagine .

I was just thinking that they got the weekly small incremental Patch route to work in 14 , so just thought that it was possible this time around , bearing in mind that they have had 4 months to

collect bugs and fiddle with the code in the background.

At this point , any small patch will be better than where we are now , even if it just fixes a very small percentage of bugs .

I also trust fully that all the effort is going into the Patch , and as such I`m also cheering them on to the road of perfection , but fundamentals needs to be fixed first , before perfection can be achieved , not all in one go . (But BA might prove me wrong)

If Biggs is in the beta testing team, that increases my confidence by at least 65%. He'll hammer the dents out.

Not sure why you think I would lie, or why I would need to lie. He's not had any involvement at all
I wouldn't take it personally, probably just making conversation. Do you remember the film Airplane where he says shall we turn on the lights and then he replies... No that's just what they'll be expecting (or something like that).

I think BA could do a lot lot more in terms of how they handle their public information.....either don't communicate or communicate well.

This.

I can understand from a developer's perspective they don't want to drop release dates because crap happens and they then have to push stuff back or whatever. Thats fine. Most of us will understand - some will complain but whatever, can't please everybody.

However, communication is KEY to everything. We're supposed to get this big patch but yet nobody knows whats in it. What the hell? There are quite a few devs that will actually give you an inkling of what they're fixing without a timeline. Dropping something then going silent is crap. It does more harm than good.

Sort yourselves out @Ross. I'm just a humble customer and big supporter of DB cricket games but I'm still 'recovering' from the rushed release of DB17 so it would be nice to know what the heck is going on re this patch.

Damn. I had this image of a bald, bearded dude tapping away at a computer, adjusting his thick-lensed glasses saying things like "we must beat the Japanese at their own game!"
You mean Takeshi's castle is making a return...? No this must be about testing for patch 4, I would think!

3 weeks ago I said the same thing and it offended quite a few people in the forum. We all have been restlessly giving our feedbacks and suggestions on what needs to be fixed, but we actually don't know if our suggestions are even been worked upon or not. It's been 6 months already and we are still waiting for some very basic fixes.. Or things which should have there in the first place itself. Communication is important, it does not only makes the wait easier but keeps you satisfied that the things you want to get fixed and added are being worked upon.

Most of the critical issues like dynamic lineups and critical bugs I am pretty sure are being worked on.

Yeah we all have things we're "pretty sure are being worked on", but honestly no-one outside of the sworn to secrecy beta testers know anything for sure (kinda ridiculous that, it's not commercially sensitive with another cricket game maker out there on console). I mean pretty close to anything at all that's been fixed. We aren't talking about new game modes, fancy new freebies, but bug-fixes here.

All we've had is one beta tester who's stated that it seems the game would be better to miss the projected patch release date. It can't be played competitively at all as it stands, as randomly changing fields pretty much squash things out of the blue in close finishes on several occasions.

Yet, it's consumers who aren't happy with this state of things and want information who're unreasonable, judging from some responses in this thread. :lol

I know we've got a while until the month ends, but apparently we were going to receive information updates in the "coming weeks", but nothing yet.

Which good people are these, who are hammering out the dents?

Well I think I should leave that to others who feel inclined to "out" themselves. I myself am trying to help. Whether I am good is another matter. :p

Since the beta process started the small group has up till now posted 109 pages of comments: not saying that that guarantees anything but it does show that it is very intensive and active and that everyone is working real hard to get a lot of things done.

I know this is all a bit diplomats-speak but I can assuredly say that there is a will and passion and determination to get this darn thing right and an honesty about the state of some things and the need for it to be fixed.

It is a very complex progress as everything ties into each other: as has been stated before core gameplay elements work subtly with each other: fix one thing and another thing is out of balance, tweak something else and the first thing needs tweaking...and on it goes.

Other things are more about connecting the dots and so there are many many things being looked at and progress being made.
