Patch Discussion - PS4 (1.10), Xbox One (1.0.0.11)

Oh, I kind of figured.. Thanks Wealey! Here's hoping that BigAnt has a new title in the works..

No problem! Btw EA for all I know could have something in the works. I highly doubted it. But any mention of it here is purely rubbish talk on the back of someone’s stupid comments!

First the new patch needs few changes, as the default edge frequency at 50 or 70 at least but not at 100.Then we, test odi and career players can enjoy the simulation and realistic gameplay by increasing it slightly above 70 according to our interest. Where as the online players too can enjoy by decreasing the edge frequency below 70. Similarly shot feedback also needs few tweaks. However it's a good concept by BA.
As a steam pc player i will welcome the new update after these changes to existing console patch.

Just wanted to confirm one thing , will the Edge Frequency at 100 will give more edges or lower the value will create more edges?

Online is handled seperately , as there is no sliders involved in Online.

Hence BA have adjusted and fixed some Online nicking Problems , and its now Locked down for users.

I prefer it that way.

Whilst I like the way that batting types (conservative, aggressive, brute etc) are influencing the game more is anyone finding it frustrating having to switch the player mentalities when switching formats? Could this be distinguished in a new patch so you can separate mentalities between shorter and longer form?

Just finiished my first game on the new patch. Changed all the sliders so it’s not as easy as the patch made it but it’s brought back the ridiculously high amount of wides in ODIs. Why?

Can anyone clear my doubt ,

People have confirmed that by changing the batting mentality like Brute, Conservative, Balanced etc does have effect in game play.

Did anyone try by changing bowling mentalities like for Example if Brute then the bowler bowls wicket to wicket etc, does changing this also have an effect in the game play.

Can anyone confirm please , also @MattW if you can.

I am in middle of the career , if this also works then I will edit them as well and restart my career.

I did play couple of casual mode ODIs and did not see much wides at all. Which mode did you play and which team was it?

Ever since the recent patches, I have not seen the AI scoring more than 165 in T20s. During the initial patches, AI used to even score above 200. Seems like the changes made to the AI test batting has impacted limited overs. Hope BA can improve the AI batting in the limited overs. Slider for AI aggressiveness wouldn't be bad either.

The only differences I've noticed with bowling mentalities are length and speed. The speed may be down to the types of delivery that are bowled. Conservative/Precise tend to bowl slower and on a good length. Brutes bowl shorter and Aggressive seem to bowl a mix of short and full pitched deliveries. I'm not really sure how it relates to spinners. Personally I find setting bowlers to Balanced is best.

When it comes to speed, pace bowlers seem to bowl 5-10% slower than is possible with the same bowlers when under human control.

It's an area of the game that really could do with looking at and greater clarity.

I'd like to see:

Bowling speed changed to a numerical figure - so you just set a speed that they average out at when under AI control. For human; if you hit perfect/perfect when it comes to release you get that speed. If you miss there are minor speed reductions.

In addition to the mentalities add a Style or Approach for bowling. For pace: Swing bowler/Seam bowler/Cutter bowler. Not that they exclusively bowl those deliveries, when AI controls, but the majority of those occur. For human control, perhaps a narrowed window for the primary mentality - so, it's narrowly easier to bowl Swing deliveries for a Swing bowler.

For spinners, not sure on the labels, but have something that differentiates Mystery Spinners (for a bowlers who really do mix it up) other 'normal' spinners who primarily use spin/drift/flight changes for an off/leg spinner with the occasional change up.

I think a 'Natural length' would be good to add, so the bowler focuses on that length - as seems to be the main effect of the mentalities.

Regardless of changes that have been made to human batting my view, since day one of release, is that one of the biggest problems has been AI bowling.

It would be great if they add VS Spin and VS pace sliders in to the mix as well , spinners are really hard to play compare to pacers.
