You gotta add port in your modem/router NOT just windows Exceptions

try that

also when you online SHUT DOWN all your processes excxept Taskmgr & Explorer Only shut down Username Processes

shut down everything in the system tray aswell

after you do this game runs sweet online & single player

Ashes says 512kbps BUT 1500 kbps would be enough

try to get a 8000 or 20000 then your really gaming online

i know people who have played against me with a 256kbps connection without any lag. obviously as the ping will increase you fell feel the lag more and more, so if you have a slow connection try and play with players within your country or state.
