Cool - enjoy your food. I'm off for a shower (my hands get ridiculously sweaty holding onto a game controller for any length of time :o\) after a match against ChrisW.
We played a Nightime Twenty20 at a cloudy MCG, with myself as Australia and ChrisW as Pakistan. I won the toss and chose to bat first.
After making a reasonable start against the pacemen (an LBW and a really poorly judged clean bowled aside), ChrisW started tieing me up with the spinners, packing the off side field close and having three men spread on the legside boundary. This had me in trouble for a while and I did continue to regularly lose wickets throughout the innings, but with some dancing down the wicket from my long Australian batting order I was also able to regularly pick up some boundaries. Eventually I was dimissed for 112 off 13.4 overs
Thankfully my bowling is a fair bit better than my batting and I never really lost the initiative in ChrisW's innings although, as with my games against Ricco_M, I was aided by some rather dodgy running by my opponent. To be fair, at least two of the run out dismissals seemed a bit glitchy to me, while we also had a few instances of him diving for his ground, my throw going wayward and then only the batsmen who hadn't dived running for otherthrows, leaving two batsmen at one end but the umpire saying not out.
Buginess aside, after he did get his running in gear I was able to really vary the pace switching between fast, medium and spin attack and it wasn't long before I reached ChrisW's rather long three-man tail. In the end Cameron White (who seems ludicrously over-rated in this game IMO) picked up the last wicket to finish with 3-10, dismiss Pakistan for 62 off 12 overs and secure a 50 run win.
Shame ChrisW wasn't on Ventrilo, but apart from that it was a thoroughly enjoyable game.

Has anyone tried an inter-country game yet? I guess it'd only be possible between Australia and England on the PS3. I'm getting he game on PC on the 13th but would love to be able to play against the Poms on here and others around the world and not have it lag terribly. Even a small amount of lag really ruins it for the batting team. It's less important for the bowling team (except with catches I suppose).

I expected to make that score mate. Trust me. This is the 1st time I collapsed like that. Had fun though. I still thought I could chase down 180 even after I was 6 wickets down,but then lost dhoni to a stupid run out. :doh

Takes a while here too.
Just finished against Valerian (I think it was). Made 181-3 from my 20 overs. Michael Clarke finished on 96 not out, needed a boundary off the last ball for the 100 but I missed it.
Ponting made 80 odd. I was about 6-2 after 2 overs so I was very happy with that score.I then bowled Valerian (India) out for 21.
The short bowling tactic just doesn't work once a batsman is set, in my opinion.

Started a 10 over game against valerian140 - had him 24-3 after 4.2 overs when it dropped.
Unfortunately Valerian, if you're on a 64kps connection, you're not going to be completing many games if you are hosting - certainly not against people several thousand miles away anyway.

was a close one last night - think i shuda had you gassy boy! you notice how my run rate froze from about the 15th over on? had the missus chirpin on at me from about the 15th over to give her a lift to pub to meet friend thats why the change of innings took ages didnt want to quit on you so drove like michael shumacher down and when i got back the cpu had auto bowled 4 balls of your innings and you were 12/0 couldnt believe it!!
up for another one when you are or if anyone else fancies a game?

Happened with me too. It will work if I host then? Why is that?

Well, as I understand it, the host machine has to upload more data to the client (the host players actions and the game engine calculations, as these are calculated on those hosts machine) compared to the client machine (which just has to upload the client players actions)
On a standard modem line the upload capacity is so small that it struggles to upload the data quick enough, causing the game to go out of sync. It may still do so even with yourself hosting (the fact remains he's on a connection below the quality which the developers state is the minimum) but I believe him hosting exacerbates the problem.
Maybe I'm talking ****, but that's my understanding anyway.

i just completed a game against Valerian
although it was over in about 10 minutes!!
valerian 24 all out 4 overs
barmyarmyXI (me) 25/3 off 3.2 overs
but i dont think i will play him again as there was a lag on the bowling for me when i was batting it froze and cost me two wickets - first time ive experienced lag online and have played thegas and nickgiffin without a prob
