PC version 1.20.1 released

...what cream? ...asking for a friend...

I had a crashing issue on my computer as well, and it was my PC getting too hot.

Well, my laptop is not getting hot. Till the current update, DBC was working great. Now after repeatedly trying to get bradman running, my laptop is showing a blank screen now. It was crashing and restarting each time I tried to play the game and finally the laptop is not responding now. After I push the power button, it shows the HP logo and then it remains blank. Its just stuck their. Now I will have to give my laptop for repair. Don't know what that is going to cost.

The game's frame-rate sometimes gets locked and stays below 9 fps on the match loading screen, where the teams and the weather are shown. The only solution has been to alt-f4 the game and restart it. I know there's not too much information here, but would be interested to know if anyone else has experienced the same issue. Just some information that could help, it's a test match in a tour (The Ashes).

Yep. It has been mentioned here. I think it was blockerdave who first brought it up.

Hey Matt..please help...I somehow got my laptop started after all the crashes. I deleted DBC from my pc and now my laptop has stopped crashing. There was no problem till that last update.I think that DBC update was causing all the problem. What should I do?

You don't have the required specs to run the game, that's your main problem. It's nothing to do with DBC.

It was running perfectly till the last update. So why just blame the specs. Even Matt said that just because of the specs the pc should not be crashing and restarting. Also why should it be affecting my other games. I uninstalled DBC and all the other games are working fine. I would have agreed to your specs thing if the game was not working before. But it was working perfectly till the last update

I would think, if you don't have required specs then it working previously isn't really a guarantee it will work post update... However not having required specs is also unlikely to cause crashes I think unless through overheating but it doesn't sound like that.

What you do have to accept is that BA may not be able to help you if your computer is below minimum because the whole point of setting a minimum is that is the level from which they have tested things and can provide support - below is unsupported and there's a limit to what they can do. Caveat emptor - I know it sounds glib but it's valid here.

It's very strange if it was affecting other games... I don't know if the update could have corrupted any DX files? Did you have any internet interruptions when downloading the update? Have you tried reinstalling the game?

Yeah, what he said.

My point was BigAnt can't support a game running on their below minimum requirements. Or be held at fault if it stops running. Otherwise I require a patch for DBC to run on my Nintendo64.

IMO sounds more like a system or OS fault, and/or a Steam update that may affect your system. I would either revert to a full back up when your system was working and start there and update carefully to trace the fault.

...if you don't do rolling back-ups (you should) then your next bet is to uninstall everything that is affected, start clean and go forward from there. If you can't do that, there's not much else they can do. Maybe time to invest in an upgrade.

Indeed, it shouldn't, but unintended behaviour on unsupported hardware isn't something that can be planned for.

I would suggest the next thing to try would be a system restore - see Microsoft's guide here Turn back time on your PC: Undo system changes with System Restore - roll your system back to before the last time the game worked and then install the game after verifying other things function correctly.

I'm not sure if the patch has been submitted for consoles or not. But having played a few T20 matches I'd just like to add a bit of feedback regarding the new additions like the defensive push shot and other stuff. As of now the AI in limited overs is surprisingly pretty well done. The way they plan out their inning, the aggressive running, all in all result in some memorable and highly contested matches.

It'd be great if you could increase the threshold of the defensive push to around 20% more. Because currently it works once or twice in about 10 tries.(I'm using an Xbox 360 Controller btw)

Also, in T20 matches the AI doesn't push the field out till about 16th over or so. It just sticks with different Powerplay field sets.

With all the new additions it still is the best Limited Over experience till date. If these two issues can be looked into, we can have some seriously neat limited overs AI.

I guess @MattW is the one looking into feedbacks, so please have a look into this.

What sort of match position is the AI in though? Are they still attacking and getting wickets, or are you getting that regardless of match situation?

I don't know the exact status of submission for consoles, but I know that we're not at a point where minor tweaks are going to happen - it's too late on in the process for things like that.
