On Hold PCF1: 2000 --- On hold until I return from my travels

Are signups still open?
If not, anyone wants my help?

Damn! How can I miss this? :(

You're welcome to pick up BAR, Benetton or Prost, and if you want to change the driver line-up or engine provider, that's fine; there are still some available drivers.

Drivers still available include:
  • Heinz-Harald Frentzen
  • Pedro Diniz
  • Luca Badoer
  • Alex Zanardi
  • lots of cheap drivers
Engines still available include:
  • Ferrari (customer)
  • Ford
  • Mercedes
  • Peugeot
You might also be able to get Eddie Irvine on loan from Ferrari, although it might help if I sort out the budgets first. It's a little tricky trying to organise the main index post as well, but I'll get there

Did you read the PM? I explained how you should sign up, and this isn't valid.

damn how did I miss this... you wouldn't be able to bend the rules slightly and let me sign up as a late entry?

If I can:

Code:
TEAM NAME British American Racing
MANAGER IceAgeComing
CHASSIS DEVELOPMENT - Large Factory

ENGINE --- Choice 1 - Honda
---------- Choice 2 - Supertec
---------- Choice 3 - Customer Ferrari (I don't know how it would be branded, I'm pretty sure that even in 2000 branding an engine with a tobacco brand would cause... problems in some countries)

DRIVER PREF. 1 Jacques Villeneuve
DRIVER PREF. 2 Alex Zanardi
DRIVER PREF. 3 Ricardo Zonta
DRIVER PREF. 4 Darren Manning
DRIVER PREF. 5 Bruno Junqueira

TEST DRIVER Yes/No Yes

I naturally had to pick Zanardi since he was available, he is a bloody good driver both before and after his accident

@IceAgeComing
You could always join my team if there isn’t enough places your knowledge would be more than useful.

It's particularly handy that you're only changing one driver as I've already sorted out the sim. Definitely, take the team.

Wow, I am already over budget. :clap
Not to worry too much about that - most teams will make that all back in sponsor money anyway. Ferrari are in more of a pickle - they're five million over or so. But on the other hand, they're a fiercely strong team, and will earn lots of prize money.

Announcements for prize money and the Young Drivers Draft are coming soon - hopefully tonight.

FIA Young Drivers Draft

The FIA Young Drivers Draft is your team's chance to kick-start the career of a young driver at no cost to your own pocket. The teams will be able to pick drivers aged less than 25 from a short-list of 20 drivers, with the team that finished last in the previous year's Championship eligible to go first. The only exception to this is Kimi Raikkonen, who has already been approached by Williams but denied a racing superlicence for the 2000 season by the FIA.

Throughout the season, you may wish to promote these drivers to Test or even Race Driver roles. This should be acceptable, and at any point I will decide on whether or not to grand a Superlicence. In most cases, even those which may have been previously refused, they are likely to be granted. For instance, this means that Kimi Raikkonen may yet be promoted to a Williams race seat in the 2000 season.

@IceAgeComing can get going right away for BAR.

Only one driver, correct?

If so, Felipe Massa sticks out from that list and will be our pick, although there are a few other good drivers in that list, some of whom never really got a fair shot in F1 IRL

@Mars_Mk1 if you want a hand when it gets to you let me know, I promise that any advice that I give will be 100% honest, although probably slightly biased as I only really followed F1 and Indycar (well technically CART because the IRL was still crap then, but the split ended ten years ago and they're basically the same thing) at the time so I don't know all of those drivers
