PCPL - Discussion Thread (All Owners READ!!)

Well I there are some more players signing they can get chance to play in the starting 11 rather than sitting on the bench

Regarding today's announcement:

Can an owner buy a 2nd team?

If not, can they buy it anonymously? :p

Secondly, if miraculously we win this tournament, will there be enough players up for auction in which I can get rid of all 3 of my international players, and purchase 4 new ones? If not, then we're gonna have some serious debating to do :p

Thirdly, when will the second season start?

No.

Absolutely not.

This has not been discussed, but will in due time. There will be a transfer window for both Internationals and Regular PC players :)

Thirdly, when will the second season start?

Rhys (Being the cricsim boffin :p) quoted me some time in December, but really, until the PCCL fixtures are thought out, no one knows :)

Jeez, i've put my answers in bold in your quote :)

Can we abolish the PCCL?

I think the PCPL has more potential :p

Or maybe I'm like the Sri Lankan players... Money over real cricket....

Erm...you could start a revolt, but i doubt anyone would join you, the PCCL has the tradition, the teams etc. :)

I don't know why both can't run simultaneously.
Two different leagues, but we could have Pro40's here and four day matches while the PCCL can have 50's and five dayer's.

You know I like that idea better.

The only problem is everyone is on different teams. Teammates one day, rivals the next.

I think we'd have to have a universal team (like just using PCPL teams for it and abolishing the PCCL teams)

No.

PCCL performances lead to selection for Origin and Inter-forum games.
Performances in all three lead to contracts for PCPL

PCCL has a lot of players, out of which the best and most active make it to the Origin, Interforum, then PCPL.

Origin has the best from different countries, Interforum are the best of PC, and then PCPL is some cash reward and fun and controversy for the offseason for the most active players.

It is fine as it is.

I feel that the system of the PCPL allows for every player to be more involved in the game though - thats just my feeling though.

I'm going to make this perfectly clear: PCPL and PCCL are not rivals.

PCPL will never branch out into longer-formats of the game, and solely exists for Twenty20 and what Zorax has said above (and is also a quick bit of fun with something happening all the time in the offseason).

PCCL (which will hopefully see a revamp the season after next) has the FC and OD forms of the game (and possibly its own Twenty20) which leads to State of Origin series, interforum and international sides etc.

PCPL only exists to be like the IPL really.
PCPL Select XI is not a rival side to a PCCL XI either, and will only play T25/T20 matches...

I hope that makes it clear(ish) :p

Do averages have an impact on the sim? I mean, we started out with set ratings for all the players in the PCPL. Are they still the only determinants of performance in the sim or do the accumulated averages over the matches we've played so far have an impact?

That is something only the creator can tell lol. The averages are the single biggest point in it, though I do feel that accumulated stats do have an impact. For example, whenever I sim 10 matches in succession, then erase the previous stats and redo, I get generally different results!
