IPL Pepsi IPL 2014 Auction

@greymatter776 i dont feel one team was best because all had done the best for instant Rcb did amazingly well up to Starc purchase the had one foolish bid on him that just hand cuffed them going forward to the auction. And i really feel Mi dont have that aggressive look now but i dont see them make the final 4 for the up coming season

Yes after day 1 I thought RCB would struggle to complete the squad but they did their job perfectly on day2.With limited money getting good players is not easy. And about MI,well they doesn't have the aggressive lineup anymore.there is Anderson ,Pollard,Rohit alright but as Ajay Jadeja mentioned,If one is injured there is no good replacement. The bowling would be too good with Malinga,Zaheer,Bhajji,Ojha, hazlewood etc but still the squad looks weak alltogether for me.

----------

Just think about RCB,with Gayle,Kohli and De villiers they scored 263.Now with Albie Morkel and Yuvi hope they would score 300+ :thumbs

KX1P have made the best buys by far. @Yudi i am with you this time mate, into the Lion's den, hoping to see Bailey lead the side to the title and Viru getting the orange cap.
Welcome to the Lions' den. The roar is louder this time. :D

@greymatter776 yes can score and chase big and more over it gives ab and chris more freedome with yuvi and morkel coming in tough i feel starc was unnecessary buy tough belive time will say what is best :) @Yudi you owned Rapidreds and the logo had lion in it and viru was your captain so no doubts you guys are new to lions :)

I lost all hopes on CSK. By far the worst team line up in the history of IPL. Nonsense bowling department and a Dhoni only batting line up, looks like Fleming was drunk during the auctions. He never even reacted to most of the players.

I like DD squad, RCB batting too.

Murali Vijay and Dinesh Karthick in the same team :D So Nikitha is going to have a great time i suppose :D

CSK has never been about attractive buys. Every auction, they mostly retain their core squad and they have done the same this time too. And just as every season, they buy a few utility players. Yes they have bought a little too many big hitters, but each of them are very useful and devastating on their day.

I think our core group thats been retained (Dhoni, Raina, Ashwin, Jaddu and Bravo) are enough to keep us strong. And these new buys have made us more solid. We don't look attractive like an RCB, KXIP or a DD but we do look solid.

P.s: What's this thing with Murali Vijay and Dinesh Karthik? I would like to know that backstory.:D

Shewag will not take captaincy... but there is serious discussion going on Punjab camp that Pujara may get Captaincy... @yashwanth kumar I don't think Starc is waste of money... he will give bowling depth to RCB camp...

----------

Highlight of auction is Anirudh Srikanth... when his name is called no one wanted him, even SRH... but after about 5-6 min his father forced luxman to bid for his son...

For first time in IPL history, I'll be supporting two sides. MI from the beginning and now KXIP. They have bunch of Aussies. Surely, I have a reason to support them. Preity Zinta could buy handsome players this time too. Handsome performers as well. KXIP is looking solid this season. With Marsh, Bailey, Johnson, Maxwell & Miller they have chance to rock this season.

MI done it beautifully by buying Hussey in. A good and promising replacement for Sachin. He is the player to watch out for this season with a new responsibility. Really can't say how much effective Corey will be. Never seen him playing on Indian or sub-continent pitches. His stats aren't that great to worth 6C. The decision to bid him is the absolute result of world's fastest ODI century. Zaheer, Malinga, Ojha, Bhajji, Corey, Hussey, Ro, Rayudu & Pollard. Ah! Still a fantastic squad. Lets hope a beautiful season for both MI & KXIP. :thumbs

Good that CSK made a last effort to get another decent Indian fast bowler in Ishwar Pandey. This makes their Nehra selection all the more a waste of money, that too 2 crores:eek: I would play Ishwar Pandey most of the games, along with Mohit Sharma.

Feel very sad that Badrinath went unsold. The guy slogged hard for CSK and was part of quite a few "escape from jail" attempts for CSK. To have him go unsold felt bad. But with that, I feel Baba Aparajith should be given more chances in the XI for CSK. The guy is a very good talent and should not be wasted in the benches.

I think CSK's XI should be this (for most games):

D Smith/B McCullum
F Du Plessis
S Raina
B Aparajith/M Manhas
MS Dhoni
D Bravo
R Jadeja
R Ashwin
I Pandey
M Sharma
B Hilfenhaus/M Henry

I feel CSK's Indian bowling lineup now looks a lot more solid now with I Pandey and M Sharma (proven performer for CSK). If either perform bad, we will fall back on Nehra but hope we never get to that.

The truth is that CSK has a decent squad with Dhoni, Raina, Bravo, Ashwin and Jaddu are already been retained. The second truth is that you have best TT captain who can lead any worse side to title (except world cup outside sub-continent). Not a bad squad really.

I will be supporting my city, Chennai as usual. No matter what has happened behind the scenes, I still support the city and its team. And I strongly believe that the players have not been part of any wrongdoings (till proved otherwise).

The other team that I will support, seeing the way the auction panned out, is Delhi. They have some pretty nice buys this time. Hope they turn their fortunes around.

Hussey
Tare
Corey :bwl:
Rohit:c:
Rayudu
Pollard :bwl:
Bhajji :bwl:
Malinga :bwl:
Zaheer :bwl:
Ojha :bwl:
Bumrah :bwl:

Several good bowling options with variety pace and spin. Batting lineup is as strong as previously was. Even bit more better. Tare and Bumrah are uncapped but both has done decently in recent games. Bunch of experience and better captain, why not trophy then.:D

-----------------------------------

Sehwag
Pujara/Mandeep
Miller/Marsh
Saha
Bailey :c:
-
Maxwell/Perera :bwl:
Dhawan/Balaji :bwl:
Johnson :bwl:
Awana/Balaji
Karthik :bwl:

Seems great. Just disappointed that both the favorite players are now in separate teams.
