The best footie game in existance has just come to the PC. Konami's PES 3 demo is now available. All of you under the mistaken belief that FIFA is even an average footie game, try this to see what football should feel and play like.

The demo allows you to choose from 4 teams. Its 225 MB and kicks FIFA's backside

True, but it blows Fifa 2004 out of the water

such good detail in the players bodies. *sigh* I just wish Cricket 2002 had that. Hope 2004 does though.

PES is great because of the gameplay. Its probably the most true to life simulation of any sport in electronic form. A simple test: Set a CPU vs CPU match on FIFA and PES. In FIFA the CPU would repeatedly try running from end to end through the centre of the pitch trying the same scripted move. PES, lean back in your chair and get out the bag of chips, you could be forgiven for thinking it was a live telly match :D

Graphically although PES 3 is an improvement , FIFA is still the more polished game.

So, that means that the AI is better than FIFA, right?

I thought FIFA 2003 was the best Football game last year, haven't played any of this season's games yet, but I'm probably going to get FIFA again.

Depends what you look for in a game. If graphics and licenses float your boat FIFA is the way to go. But if strategy, depth in gameplay and simply the "feel" of the game is what you want the PES series is miles ahead of FIFA.

Maybe its because FIFA (after 98 which was made in the UK) is made by Canadians who know little about the beautiful game, while PES is made by hardcore football fans. As I said before I haven't seen a sports title that captures the sport and its spirit as astonishingly well as PES...and I've played almost all sports games out there :D

I think I don't have enough RAM so I can't install it. Looks like I'll have to get the PS2 version...

Anyway. Incase some of you haven't found it, there's a great URL for PES3 and WE7.

It's www.pesinsight.com

It's got 209 screenshots and lot's of info.

Enjoy...
