No I am half English and half Dutch and live in Holland but I have lived in NZ as well!

Decided to finally make an excel booklet listing all the songs I know and can at least play a little bit of just so I can remember them and attempt to learn them... and the results were depressing.

Out of the 89 songs I know, I can play a mere four of them completely confidently without any mistakes. I listed a further seven of them as close, meaning that I can play the full version or have come close to but there are still a few mistakes and I'm no perfect. The other 78 songs I can't play fully or even close. Mostly just a verse and the chorus, and I've never gone on from there.

Determined to learn a few more now, will hopefully start by learning all of the 'close' songs and then moving on further.

Code:
Coldplay Violet Hill YES
Goldeneye 007 Archives YES
Super Mario Bros. Underworld YES
Eskimo Joe New York YES
Coldplay Clocks CLOSE
Linkin Park What I've Done CLOSE
The Killers Somebody Told Me CLOSE
The Killers When You Were Young CLOSE
Visage Fade to Grey CLOSE
New Order Bizarre Love Triangle CLOSE
Cameo Word Up CLOSE

How depressing. Two of the yes songs are video game themes. :(

:laugh Where do you get your sheet music from? And is it sheet music that contains the vocal line in the piano part or is just the instrumental part?

I download MIDI files actually and run them through Synthesia, which in turn plays each individual track scrolling down over the piano keys. It's basically like Piano Hero with MIDIs, if you plug your keyboard into the computer you can even play along with scores.

Freeware as well. The best program I've ever found.

wow sounds cool. The problem I find with plugging my keyboard into my computer is that there is a huge amount of lag in it :/
Do the midi files normally have separated RH/LH parts and a vocal line? Or are they all merged into one?

They are nearly always separated every time. If anything, the problem is there are too many tracks - there might be one in the MIDI for a guitar, one for bass, one for piano, and one for a ukelele playing faintly in the background. But you can disable them as you please, and choose which ones to see, which ones even to hear. So it's perfect. :D

Watched the video, looks amazing! I think it'd be quite hard to read the notes as they came down the screen though :/ I suppose that's what the practice modes are for :p

Need to get my keyboard out of its case and try this!

Yeah, it is a bit before you get used to it and I still find it hard. I don't play along though, I only use it to learn the song and for that I pause it heaps and slow it down to 70% or 50% speed or whatever.

It's awesome.

Just bought the sheet music to this, going to learn it along side Canon
