Should the World League have a requirement for Youths?

Tried another thing for the rankings. Calculated the total points gathered by all the teams in all the seasons. Then decreased 2 points per game lost. 10 points were removed from the team who skipped a season. If a team has started in 2nd season itself, no point has been removed from their account. Same goes for whoever started in season 3.
So here are the rankings which are just slightly different than the previous ones.

Team Points
1. Chewie CC 84
2. AgridSA 82
3. Iridium XI 55
4. New York Yankees 54
5. Indian Warriors 48
6. TJE 35
7. South Africa XI 31
8. Blitzkreig Boyz 27
9. LL 24
10.Hedger's Team 20
11.Baggie Blues 19
12.Reggie Boys 13
13.MCC 13
14.Zorax CC 11
15.Saurashtra Lions 09
16.Hieghveld Leopards 0
17.Black Caps 0
18.Aussie XI 0
19.Tasmania Hoppers 0
20.WinnersOrLosers 0

Same's the case with the Black Caps I bel16ve... :p

Edit: NM, didn't see this post of yours above mine initially (was in the previous page when I posted it).

Either way, 'match ratings' is the best way to rank the teams.

The majority of that list aren't active enough on here. I'd rather keep it small with people who are active for this season and then we can build up from there if there is enough interest.

Is it though?? Games arent played on paper remember! A players known/supposed skill means nothing... only results count.

So really previous results do count. But really the system needs weighting.

Maybe take into account; win record, division, FTP ratings

That way no-one could argue so long as we all agree that each has a specific weight in the ranking, ie win record 50%, division 30%, FTP ratings 20%. Something like that.

Just using one doest tell the whole story, for example... look at english football at the moment. Newcastle United are 4th, this is a big shock to most of us. By the look of the table (win record) they are 4th but they certainly wouldnt be the 4th strongest side if you looked at their squad (FTP rating)

But given the fact we are almost halfway through the season and they are 4th you'd have to say that they are the 4th best team at the moment. But they might be 8th on the list if you went by their squad. It wouldn't really be fair to say they were the 8th best side in the league even though they have the results that make them 4th in the table because their squad isnt as good as some of the teams they are above.

This is what I mean...

Team Name Played Won Lost Win% Points(winsx2xwin%) Weighted(30 games)

Therefore ranked as weighted

South Africa XI 8 6 2 75 9 33.75
LL 8 6 2 75 9 33.75
Chewie CC 28 20 7 74.07 29.63 31.75
AgridSA 30 21 9 70 29.4 29.4
TJE 18 11 7 61.11 13.44 22.4
Hedger's Team 10 6 4 60 7.2 21.6
Iridium XI 28 16 11 59.25 18.96 20.31
New York Yankess 28 16 12 57.14 18.28 19.59
Indian Warriors 28 15 13 53.57 16.07 17.22
Saurashtra Lions 20 10 10 50 10 15
MCC 8 4 4 50 4 15
Blitzkreig Boyz 30 14 16 46.66 13.06 13.06
Baggie Blues 30 13 17 43.33 11.27 11.27
Reggie Boys 20 8 12 40 6.4 9.6
Zorax CC 30 11 19 36.66 8.07 8.07
Hieghveld Leopards 10 1 9 10 0.2 0.6
Black Caps 10 1 9 10 0.2 0.6
Aussie XI 8 0 8 0 0 0
Tasmania Hoppers 10 0 10 0 0 0
WinnersOrLosers 18 0 18 0 0 0

Then we need to division weight it simply done. Its 1 divided by the league number ie div 1 - 1/1=1, div 2 - 1/2=0.5, div 3 - 1/3=0.33, missed season
- 0
All seasons are used to calcualte the weighting figure by adding the division values and then averaged over the global number of seasons ie if you played in div 1 then div 2 then div 3 over the 3 season it would be (1+0.5+0.33)/3=0.61

Team Name WinPoints DivisionValue

South Africa XI 33.75 0.11
LL 33.75 0.11
Chewie CC 31.75 1
AgridSA 29.4 0.83
TJE 22.4 0.67
Hedger's Team 21.6 0.17
Iridium XI 20.31 0.83
New York Yankess 19.59 0.83
Indian Warriors 17.22 0.67
Saurashtra Lions 15 0.67
MCC 15 0.11
Blitzkreig Boyz 13.06 0.5
Baggie Blues 11.27 0.67
Reggie Boys 9.6 0.33
Zorax CC 8.07 0.67
Hieghveld Leopards 0.6 0.17
Black Caps 0.6 0.33
Aussie XI 0 0.11
Tasmania Hoppers 0 0.17
WinnersOrLosers 0 0.28 0

Match Ratings value will be calculated by taking the teams maximum rating divided by 11 for 11 players on the pitch and then by 1000 for ease of numbers (just want to keep the figures as small as possible)

Team Name WinPoints DivisionValue RatingScore

South Africa XI 33.75 0.11 13.07
LL 33.75 0.11 13.41
Chewie CC 31.7 5 1 18.23
AgridSA 29.4 0.83 16.76
TJE 22.4 0.67 17.43
Hedger's Team 21.6 0.17 14.49
Iridium XI 20.31 0.83 16.73
New York Yankess 19.59 0.83 16.52
Indian Warriors 17.22 0.67 14.54
Saurashtra Lions 15 0.67 16.62
MCC 15 0.11 8.96 (Used last SOD Match)
Blitzkreig Boyz 13.06 0.5 14.22
Baggie Blues 11.27 0.67 13.55
Reggie Boys 9.6 0.33 14.02 (Used last SOD Match)
Zorax CC 8.07 0.67 13.93
Hieghveld Leopards 0.6 0.17 ---
Black Caps 0.6 0.33 12.24 (Used last SOD Match)
Aussie XI 0 0.11 ---
Tasmania Hoppers 0 0.17 ---
WinnersOrLosers 0 0.28 11.65

What we do from here should be discussed. Whether we weight each value or leave them as they are, do we add them together or multiply them? Thoughts??

Knock Out tournament will solve all problems. And the real winner will be decided. I am keen to make this "PC FTP Championship", not World League.

I have no personal problem with World League but I think Knock Out tournament is the best way to include all players and finish with less difficulties.

Who are agree with me?

That's a lot of numbers.

LOL thats all the thoughts I get? Geez!

I was thinking personally I just times them from here out to give us this ranking table in order:

Chewie CC 577.89
AgridSA 408.98
Iridium XI 278.48
New York Yankess 268.61
TJE 261.59
Indian Warriors 167.75
Saurashtra Lions 167.03
Baggie Blues 102.31
Blitzkreig Boyz 92.86
Zorax CC 75.32
Hedger's Team 53.21
LL 49.78
South Africa XI 48.52
Reggie Boys 44.42 (Used last SOD Match)
MCC 14.78 (Used last SOD Match)
Black Caps 2.42 (Used last SOD Match)
WinnersOrLosers 0
Hieghveld Leopards ---
Aussie XI ---
Tasmania Hoppers ---

I'd say thats a fairer ranking system as it takes into account wins, division and team strenght!

Plus once next season is done we would remove the "season 1" data from the figures and add "season 4" to it. This way the rankings are progressive and reflect your strenght over the last 3 seasons. Its similar to fifa's ranking system in that respect although they have it for 5 years not 3.

I like that ranking idea but for now we'll stick with the 9 people that said they wanted to take part. No one else has expressed interest. If anyone does during the course of the season, we can pop them for next season.

Fixtures will be up later today. Is everyone all good to start this weekend?

It wouldnt be too hard to maintain the rankings even with 9 players. Not our fault people have lost interest or whatever.

Anyways a 9-way league sounds gd.
