I have to agree that this "graphics team" wouldn't be needed.

In fact, I don't even know what the difference would be from that to the way the graphics are at the moment.

Making avatars and signatures for use on site is what the artworks forum is anyway, so there is no need for this team.

Well it is fairly simple to make a signature. You create a space of 300x100 and go from there! May sound sarcastic, but it's true. Sure, might be fairly basic compared to some of the stuff in the Artwork forum, but it is easy to make a signature.

well we do need someone to be looking into this part of the forum which is rapidly becoming more popular... as its starting stuff like SOTW competetions we need someone to have a little power to edite and sticky the stuff in the forum and organise it..

There are already four moderators for the Artwork forum!

I'm neutral on this topic, but by that token, it's fairly easy to write a 'news story'. All you need to have is Notepad and a command over the English language.

Here's the bottom line.

A graphics team for sigs and avatars would bring nothing to the site. At the end of the day they are just eye candy. Sorry to those who like making lots of sigs but the site would be exactly the same if we turned off signatures and avatars. All the other usergroups add content to the site (although not as much as I would like in some cases).

just after i began as a staff member i thought of that idea and told barmyarmy but he siad there was no point.

I always made or found my own sigs , besides Planetcricket is not the best place to show your art skills. Get a job or something and get paid for whatever you like to do.

there is rarely anything stickied or organized an if you asked them they would admit they do not go to the sub-forum very often...

I knocked this up in a minute

But my current sig (which is actually my sig from months ago) only took 5 minutes, its very simple but works quite well i think.

all you do is put a couple of random filters on the canvas then post either a precut image or take about 10 minutes to slice the image. not really that hard.

i agree, the SOTW should be stickied.
