Poor Marketing/Release on PS4/xbox1?

Can this piss poor excuse for a discussion thread just be closed? It's worse than the release date thread.

It's just two people making stuff up, and they refute evidence given to disprove their claims. There is literally no discussion going on

Uh, this whole situation is just a pile of stinkin' shit

I don't want to do anything. The reason I said that is that first of all, this thread was probably started to seek opinions of people whether they think BigAnt have been rough about their publishing strategy as we are in the month when the game is suppose to release and we have no release date yet. But from the original point of the thread, it has shifted towards attacking the person who started the thread. It could have been that you listen to what he had to say and instead of insulting him, give your opinion and move on. But that was not what I read in the first 6 pages.

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean it is worth listening too. It seems that you haven't listened too/read anything so why should we bother with your opinion?

Considered opinions are always appreciated - eg. MattW's comments about social media. But saying 'Big Ant have been rough about their publishing strategy' clearly indicates you don't have a clue.

Read his post history. It's all just unfounded and misinformed complaining

The only correct statement was Matts about the social media stuff, which has been a bit average. Especially as that stuff doesn't really cost you anything, other than someone's time...

I think Ross has said the same, i guess ross likes facebook as much as me. meaning not at all.:yes

At Blacktown today I saw the trailer being played outside the EB on 2 big flat screens, I know its only a video but it looked great even though I've watched it about 20 times :).

Sounds like the kinda thing a Racist would say...

It does, but nevertheless I didn't actually say it...

---------

My personal thoughts are a)I remain concerned at the lack of visibility on Amazon and Game in the UK, which seems to call in to question a March release in the UK at least, b)I definitely think until TruBlu make an announcement we won't see a marketing campaign and that appears to be both correct (due to limited budget) and their standard behaviour c)social media outside this forum has been under used, but actually i think that's become a positive due to the delays and uncertainty, right now the more people aware of the product the more frustrated people there would be and d)for a March release, you have to think this week is "piss or get off the pot" time... If there's no TruBlu announcement this week regarding the official release date and whatever should follow that in terms of trailers, price and retail and pre-order information etc. then it won't be releasing in March.

And if they don't release in March with the T20 World Cup on, you'd have to wonder when they would release... Certainly it'd be hard to see it releasing as DBC14, you'd think it'd be pushed back to the next Aussie season (World Cup) as DBC15.

Which all means I hope someone at TruBlu has some good news for us this week.

The social media thing is such a mystery. They could put their "being talked about" section through the roof simply by setting community targets like "once we reach X amount of likes, we'll release X".

Setting benchmark arbitrary targets is the easiest way to increase both community interaction and get more eyes on your product. Things like "share to win" are par for the course, take zero effort and as long as you're releasing something interesting every week, the more people that share it, the more peoples eyes on your product and the more people talk about your product.

I dunno, Ross has done a great solo job here on PC.net, which I'm sure Barmy, Matt & Co are really happy about as it's really put this forum 'on the map' as the front-line for where shit happens, but I can't help but think there should've been someone equally as invested on Facebook and the absence from Twitter is criminal, that's the most powerful way to get stuff "noticed" these days and costs you the time it takes to hit 140 characters. I reckon any sequel that does or doesn't happen will see a very different approach, for better or worse.

Ross has already said he's not going to invest as much time in PC.net daily stuff. Honestly, with the amount of tiring shit that he's had thrown his way I certainly don't blame him, hope there's a happy medium that can be found.

This thread makes for very poor reading. Tempted to just close it so it die in peace.

Quick forum rules reminder:
Don't attack other members - this includes calling the idiots however justified you feel you are in that assertion
Don't post when you haven't got anything useful to say - usually prevents the above from happening as well...

I realise that it's too much to ask people to stick to facts but maybe we could leave out the more egregious examples of "making shit up".

Noted, just couldn't believe what they were coming out with. Just annoyed me.

Moving on ! :)
