It's my first attempt, but i think it looks quite good.

feel free to tell me how bad it actually is.

Mate I think it's excellent as a first just layer -> matting -> defringe to finish it of, use pen tool at 0.3 feathering and zoom in to 700%.

Nice cuts there harrisb and assofty. Was that Dravid precut already that bright or did you change the lighting? Also remember to use Layer > Matting > Defringe by 1/2 pixels. It'll help you get rid of them fine black lines, e.g, around his bat.
